Saturday/Sunday Sunshine

Hey ladies!  What's good with you this weekend?

I got to sleep until 8:30 (normally up at 6) because DH took C.  There were only a few interruptions, it was blissful!  Then we spent the rest of the morning working upstairs to get the closet cleaned out and the spare room ready, we're just about half way done!  I got out a bunch of C's baby toys, so she was perfectly content to sit and reacquaint herself with "Charlie's" toys while we worked.  We've had lunch and as soon as DH is all set I'll be going to run errands all on my own (grocery, craft store, and a hair cut, wooo!).  Hopefully this afternoon we can finish upstairs and then tomorrow is just maintenance cleaning downstairs and relaxing.  I'm hoping the weather is better tomorrow so we can take C out somewhere.

I'm just enjoying a nice day at home... I may take my boys out to the indoor play area they have at the mall here. Although, I have an ulterior motive- there is a pretzel stand close by :)

ETA: Both my kids are napping... OMG that never happens. Super duper happy!

  • On Friday I resigned from my job as of the end if the school year or when I go into labor! I am super excited to be fortunate enough to stay home for a few years with my babies!! This is the first year we've been able to afford for me to be able to stay home.

Yesterday was great, DH left today to go out of town for work so he let me relax all day yesterday so that I would be more rested to be on my own with DD for a few days. I got to 'sleep in', even though I don't sleep for more than 45 minute chunks of time, took a nap when DD napped in the afternoon and then we all went out for some VooDoo doughnuts for desert. Which of course I had to get a few extra for DD and I to have today :) It was such a nice day!
  • I just bought a crap ton of baby stuff from a friend. The total retail value is close to $400, I paid $80. Feels so good to have a lot of the essentials we still needed in case Baby A makes an early debut. Now I can just stress about my body, swelling and running out of clothes that fit...

  • We went to pickup our new matress set we won from our local radio home improvement give away, get there they can't get it in store until thursday :( afterwards checked the mail and baby boy's bedding came in! Just wish our new windows were installed so we could FINALLY start on his room! I spent the mid day to afternoon yesterday hanging out with my Momma, convinced her to go get a pedi to relax, while I sat in the massage chair beside her. It was wonderful, almost as good as the frosty chocolate shake afterwards! ;)

Today we skipped church, listened to a service on tv and got stuff we needed done in the house. My MIL was in town, had lunch with her and came home to relax before getting ready for maternity pics. We got some cute shots but right before we got to the really cute ones, the horrible south to north storms hit
.. absolutely drowned us! I'm going back this week to get some by myself in the fields and praying the weather is nice for sunset! Hope everyone is safe in these bad storms and rests (I know I know that's wishful thinking but still) well tonight!

  • @LoHerrim, it's the only kind of pizza I eat!  Uno's has gluten free pizza, so C and I can both enjoy it!

Ooh you lost me at GF. I'm allergic to most recipes :/
WHY?!  What's in GF food that you can't eat?

  • @LoHerrim, that bites!  Most of what I've found is made from white rice and other super refined flours, not the healthier ones you mentioned.  However, bacon pizza that's filled with gluten is obviously an acceptable solution for those who can eat it, can you do regular old wheat?

Well after the trauma of what my brother and SIL are going through. I don't think I can cry anymore.
Today we are moving, and I am so thankful we hired movers. First time ever. 1.5 hours and they are done. Totally packed and unpacked. It's a luxury but I am so grateful.
  • My Dad went into the ER today with abdominal pain, they didn't find anything serious and said he is OK. He never takes himself to get help so I was so afraid this was going to be something terrible. So grateful.

My shower is Saturday, my Mom is hosting with my best friend here in the city. The two of them did top secret stuff today without me. They've never hung out alone before (Mom is in South NJ, bff is in NYC with me). I am so impressed and can't really put to words why this is such a big deal for my Mom (coming up here independently, meeting up with my friend without me). I am touched by my friend willing to spend half a Sunday working on stuff for me with my Mom. Mom also got home in time to sit with Dad in ER.

I usually take care if everyone. It seems like they are all taking care of each other. Words cannot express.

I'm glad your dad is ok

  • While I normally complain about my MIL, today she was awesome. We stayed with her over the weekend and she watched DS for us so we could both sleep in! We bed share with DS, so not only did we get to sleep in, but we got to enjoy not having a toddler sleep on top of us!
