I believe you should call for anything over 99.5 but I could be mistaken on that. However the nurse at my peds office told me when temping under the arm, to add a degree, so 99.8 would actually be 100.8, but I've never heard that from anyone else. Are you able to take it rectally, I heard that is the most accurate. Fevers make me nervous though, so I would call regardless.
