Love handles?

So I don't know if this is possible, but does anyone know anything about how to control/ decrease these love handles that have sprouted since getting pregnant? Are there any pregnancy safe exercises you do or is it a lost cause til after the birth? I'm just super grossed out by this muffin top I have no matter what I wear.

  • Does anyone have any opinoins on which of these would be safe for pregnancy? I know no back laying and no twisting?

I've had love handles since a couple years post high school and pregnancy makes your whole mid section bigger....love handles are just a part of that. Exercise is good and healthy for you already so throw in some targeted ones all you like.

I've never been able to stand low panel mat clothes, I'm all about the full panel! Covers everything up and is just more comfy for me. :)
  • I switched from low panel to full panel this week and that worked wonders.
This!  And my one pair of low panel that I love otherwise, I wore my belly band with them, and that smoothed things out really well and was still very comfortable

This is pretty much all I can wear that doesn't do it. Maxi skirts, shorts, workout pants. They all just give me this really distinctive extra roll. Just wondering if there is any exercises out there since dieting is a no go.

  • Another vote for full panel.
Sorry, but you are stuck with them until baby. :)

Sorry I was just looking at this on Pinterest and got excited when you asked lol! Not sure if they're all safe but looks like some of them are (5-7) hope that helps a little.

I know the feeling. You're like "Oh, I have something for that!"

  • Oh and sorry @lstrejcek, my craving for a muffin got me distracted. I third (or fourth) the full panel comments, but screw spanx, I would just go up a size so that your other clothes aren't squeezing you so much. Much more comfortable! Especially your undies, I find under dresses that's what causes a muffin top problem, undies that are too small. Go up a size and get a smooth, no-line boy short style and you'll be good to go.

  • I don't have them in all my clothes, so I am blaming the clothes. Go for full panel and underwear that smooths. Avoid anything that sinches in at the hip.
  • I agree with full panel but disagree with "your stuck with it until baby". With my first I had them most of 2nd and 3rd tri but half way through 3rd tri when baby started dropping it pulled mine and smoothed the handles out.
  • To get rid of love handles hold onto a chair or whatever in front of you for balance and do donkey kicks behind you. Make sure you're toes face the floor. That does lower back and butt.
  • I love my maternity spanx. Last time I wore them 2 or 3 times a week. But, maybe I just got used to them.
