We have quite a few local wineries where I live that have wonderful wines (and its great because you can try before you buy!). Usually once a year or so I go on a wine tasting/buying trip with my girlfriends to stock my wine cabinet with local blends.
I'm not sure where you are located at, but if you have any near you I would encourage you to check out local wineries! They often have wonderful and unique wines, and the fact that you can try them first might help you pin down what types of wine you like.
I don't really have a "go to" brand because I like to try to buy different bottles when I can. I definitely recommend Wine Advocate. Their website has rankings and descriptions of wines at all price points and you can look up bottles to see if you think you will like it.
Thanks, Ladies! We do have several local wineries here, but we mainly save those for when we are having people over. So many of these sound good, I want to try them all!! I am writing all these down and can't wait to try them.
The nearest TJ's we have is over an hour away and I've found they have really good wine, too! I am headed that way next week so I will pick some up.
We usually drink a malbec or shiraz for reds and chardonnay/pinot for whites. I have no brand loyalty right now except for our locals. We have a new grocery market opening on Tuesday about 5 min from my house that will have a wine tasting room. So that will be exiciting too!!!
I really like the whites in the Douglas Glass Beach House series. They discontinued my favorite (a semillion/pinot grigio blend), but I like the sauv blanc, too.
I'm obsessed with sparkling wine, and coppola's Sofia blanc de blanc is one of my favorites. Bonus if you can find it in the cute little pink cans, but it's still good out of the bottle. ;-) we've also recently come to love sparkling reds. They're apparently fairly common in Australia as a Christmas thing. We like the geyser peak one (their head winemaker is Australian), but I think you can only get it at the winery or through their website. Trader Joe's has a couple good ones, though, and it's fairly cheap.
I love Chianti, too, but have no brand loyalty... I usually pick them up at tastings when I find one I like.
Sigh. I love wine. Is it acceptable to go wine tasting wearing a baby? ;-)

@SuzyQq02 If LO didn't just have a meltdown, that was exactly our afternoon plan! But she's been going to tastings (at our local wine store) in her stroller since she was 3 weeks old and hit her first winery last weekend!
Excellent! There's an Italian market in the next town over that does weekly tastings. It's super small, so maybe we'll head there next weekend as an experiment before we attempt the local winery. ;-)

Like @Madisonpenny we drink Relax Riesling. It's my go to summer wine. Apothic white isn't too bad, but its pretty sweet.
Apothic Red and Menage a Tois are both red blends that I am in love with.
