Please help with Ameda elite

I'm just a couple weeks into the rental and it's no longer suctioning as strong. The machine makes a ratchety noise as it runs what is causing that noise? I can't figure out if its air escaping, if I need new parts or if its the pump itself.

This is really frustrating, I'm not getting much milk out when I pump and then I hand express and there's tons more that could have come out. Need to fix this!

    I have a Purely Yours Ultra, so this could be off base. Mine has these clear cylindrical membranes that need to be dry (not wet from milk) and also sometimes get holes and need to be replaced. Also I have white valves that need to be replaced every month or so. Maybe try replacing yours.

    I agree with the previous post, check the membranes first. My pump lost suction (Medela) after replacing the membranes and still having the issue I opened it up and realized the valve was starting to separate around the seal. I called customer service and the sent out a new one the next day. Good luck.
