Quitting EPing.

Hoping you ladies can help me. I've been EPing for a little over 8months now and I'm ready to stop. I'm just burned out with pumping. At current I have cut back quite a bit. I pump 4xs a day for 15mins each time. That's down from 8xs a day. However, my problem is my suppy is not slowing down with it. I've tried every trick I can think of or research about. I've even tried not pumping for 24 hours and the pain was unbearable. Any one been successful with stopping EPing or BFing and care to lend some advice? Thank you!

Re: Quitting EPing.

  • With my last kiddo, I EPed.

I agree with what @dani_brewer said. You just have to drop a pump slowly and methodically if you want it not to be painful.

When I would pump I would make sure I only pumped enough off to be comfortable and then stopped. It still took weeks.

Drying up SUCKS. This time I managed to get LO to breastfeed with a lot of work and I'm going to let her self wean partially because I do not want to go through the drying up process again.

  • Thanks @dani_brewer‌ I'm still getting right around 24oz with my 4xs a day pumping. It's going to be a long process. @BellaOso‌ you are so right, it sucks!!! Lol.
  • Of you're looking to dry up completely, look into Sudafed. It helped me a lot when I had to dry my supply.

  • It took me about 15 days to stop. I dropped a pump every 5 days and only pumped till I felt comfortable, about 15 minutes. I still produced 30oz with only 4 pumps but slowly regulated with fewer pumps.

Good job on making it this long!!!
  • My friend who EP'd her last son said cabbage leaves in a very right sports bra did the trick.
