@osajia I'm a bit upset about it, but I know it'll be better for her in the long run. It's not like we didn't try to get her to even out. She just totally preferred to lay on one side for like the first 2.5 months. Nothing I could really do to help it. The specialists think it should only take 7-10 weeks or so. I'm hoping for even sooner.
@emilysalley That's also what I'm upset about. I live in AZ. We are already consistently in the mid 80s and mid 90s. We've even had a couple triple digit days already. Poor girl.
Going to the specialist May 5th to see if a helmet is necessary. We're trying everything we can to keep LO off his head but it's more than likely that he'll need it. Stinks that it's during the summer months, but will be worth it in the end. I think it's going to be harder on me and DH than LO.

Finn got his helmet last week. We've already seen a ton of improvement--his measurements improved by 5 mm in the first week and that was just while he was ramping up. For the first week, he wore it for increasing periods of time, to get to an eventual 23 hours a day. He's doing really well with it--only fusses right when it goes on, then relaxes. Only problem is that he's getting a little red/rashy under it. We had it adjusted the other day and that's getting better. The helmet also gets sweaty/stinky, but I clean it every day and that is helping.
Also, his is from mild torticollis/neck preference. He's also been in PT for about 6 weeks to work on that issue. You may want to look at doing something like that in conjunction with the helmet so you fix the route cause while you reshape the head.
ETA: They estimate that he'll need to wear it for 8 to 12 weeks. Let me know whether you have any questions about the process.
@missyc979 She no longer really prefers one side, but she did at first. I'm wondering if they will have us do any type of exercises, etc to keep her good head shape once treatment is finished.
And I will reach out if I have any questions. Thanks.
We're off to the drs Tuesday to check on it. Hopefully it's not too bad because we only noticed when his hair fell out and now I know I've made sure he sleeps with his head facing the opposite way. But we'll see
We were heading down the path to a helmet as well but in my efforts to do everything I could to prevent it I took DD to the chiropractor. It was the BEST decision! After three visits she no longer preferences her right and her head has rounded out quite nicely! At our 4 month well baby Doctor said as now now no helmet but we'll keep monitoring.

She stopped favoring one side and her head looks much better, but it's still flat on one side just a bit. Hence the helmet. She goes in for the scan to create the helmet monday, and gets the helmet the following Monday.
We have one more week left ! At first it seems so sad but then you get use to it. I'm almost sad to see it go because she looks so stinking cute in hers
@brenns2711 Was yours a DOC Band? And did your specialist have your LO work up to the 23 hrs a day they have to wear it?
Yes it's a doc band They had us just do 3-4 hours on and then off until redness went away then put band back on. Only for two days. She got really hot the first day so she just wanted to be naked
