  Sadly, I'll never get the full scoop as she passed away a few years ago. I had to tell my mom of my discovery. I told her it meant something dirty and she said "oh dear...I want to know, but don't say it. Text it to me."   Each area has their own dialect (slang) so maybe in the town that your nana came from the meaning was actually "funny face."  I know with my parents dialect they had some words that other parts of Italy had no clue what they meant because it was just part of their own slang.
