38 weeks sharp pain

I'm 38 weeks and I keep having a sharp shooting pain that seems to go from a little above my bikini line to straight down, and I feel a lot of movement around my bikini line... it's kind of scary how low the movement is. anyone having similar pains or know if this is normal?

Last time I was checked I was 1cm dilated and 60% effaced, if that makes any difference.

Lightening crotch. Baby is resting on your nerves, which is causing the shooting pains. Feels like someone is stabbing you in the vag with a hot poker? Oh the joys of 3rd tri!

It can also be signs of dilation or softening. I am not saying your going into labor but a lot of times it can be a sign your cervix is thinking.
