Teeth brushing day and night? Or just night time?

Our DD has 11 teeth and we've been religiously brushing every night. However, we haven't been brushing them in the morning. Should I be getting "dumb mom of the year" award? Should we brush them in the morning too at this point?
What have you ladies been doing?

Thanks for the input!

  • We are lucky to do once/day and have been getting good at working it into the routine at night recently.  But at our 15 month appt, they actually asked if we were doing it twice/day.  I was like, uh...  So I guess you should try to do it twice.

  • I had been doing it only at night but am now making an effort for morning too. I try to do it after I brush my teeth. Fun family activity!

  • We do morning and night, however, DS actually likes to brush his teeth and asks every time I brush mine.  They also brush his teeth at daycare after lunch.

  • I am lucky to get her to let me brush them at night. I don't even think about morning. Truthfully, since morning sickness with my pregnancy, I haven't brushed in the morning either. Used to make me sick. Then I never found time to do it again.

  • We do it after breakfast and after dinner, but define brushing! I mean, she basically eats the toothpaste, but I am at least trying to get DD into a routine.

  • I'm in the night only club for now.  I need to add morning, I know, but I just can't face it yet.

  • We do it in the morning and at night. But really... in the morning, he's just chewing on the toothbrush and eating the toothpaste while I brush my teeth. I do it for him at night but sometimes it's such a struggle...

  • We've always been good about at night because we made it part of her bedtime routine right away. But after DD's pediatrician asked if we were brushing at least twice a day at her 15-month (and I wasn't smart enough to lie and say we were!), I've really tied to make it a point to remember to brush hers in the morning. I've started having her sit on the bathroom counter and brush hers while I'm brushing mine. She now knows it's part of our morning routine so even on weekend mornings when DH gets her up, she'll come into our bathroom and demand "up" at the counter!
