Question about maternity clothes sizing

For those that have been there done that: How do you feel Old Navy maternity sizing is? If I normally wear an XS in their basics like shirts and dresses would that probably be my maternity size for similar clothes as well? I want to go get a simple cotton dress for summer when I will be further into the second trimester and from my experience, anything I really like at Old Navy sells out so I want to get it now. Thanks!

I didn't buy from Old Navy, but in general the size you are in regular clothes should be the size you buy for maternity. That being said I also found it's best to try things on.

Agreeing with previous posters. I used to work at a maternity store and the only time we saw women not use their previous pregnancy sizes were either when it was their first pregnancy or if they were having multiples

but it also goes by comfort!! Make sure you're comfortable in the clothes you wear

I found ON to be pretty true to my prepregnancy size, sometimes even a little big. So I say you're safe going with your regular size.

I just ordered my regular size S. I do remember getting a few M shirts at the end because the S didn't quite cover my huge belly.

Glad to see this post. I wanted to order from old navy but I wasn't sure. In motherhood stuff, I always have to go up one size. Returning is such a hassle.

Truthfully...I didn't wear any maternity clothing until probably my eighth month. Old Navy clothes tend to be looser, so I bought some looser fitting tops with stretch in my normal size, and maybe a couple of tops in medium, and they took me most of the way through the pregnancy. If you are starting at an XS, that might work for you as well.
