Shock at the doctor today

Hi, I'm Angela and I'm new here. Had my second u/s today at 9 weeks of my 1st pregnancy and found out the baby hadn't grown since the 1st u/s at 6 weeks. Strangely, no symptoms of miscarriage had started, in fact had several positive symptoms all along - morning sickness, bloating, breast changes. My doc said this was a good sign for the future along with us only having tried for 2 months to get pregnant. I'm having a D&C Monday or Tuesday so I can put it behind me. I've been finding comfort in talking to friends and relatives who have gone thru losses as well and am blown away by how common this is. I'm hoping to find some more comfort here. I keep reminding myself that my fiancée and I will get through this and have our family soon enough.

    08/2011: Clomid 50mg, IUI --> BFN  ,
    10/2011: Clomid 100mg, IUI --> BFN
    04/13: Clomid, IUI BFP --> MC at 6w1d
    05/13: Femara 2.5mg, IUI --> BFN  , 08/13: Femara 2.5mg --> BFN
    03/14: Femara 5mg, IUI --> 1 follicle @ 27d --> BFP! EDD 12/02/14--> blighted ovum, missed MC 6w6d --> D&C
    4/23: D&C...starting over again, with a little part of my heart broken off
    5/31: Femara 7.5mg --> cancelled cycle, no follies
    7/14: Femara 5mg + brevelle + menopur + IUI --> converted to IVF, ER 7/28 --> ET cancelled due to severe OHSS.
    9/20/14:  Frozen Embryo Transfer --> BFP--> EDD 6/6/15 --> MC at 5w3d      
    10/16/14: Frozen Embryo Transfer --> BFN
    2/6/15: Frozen Embryo Transfer --> BFP --> MC at 5w4d
    3/20/16: PGS-tested Frozen Embryo Transfer --> BFP, Living Child born 12/1/15
    6/6/17: Fresh IVF Cycle --> Severe OHSS, 5 PGS-tested embryos frozen
    2/23/18: PGS-tested FET --> BFN
    3/30/18: Cancelled cycle due to lining 4.2mm
    6/21/18: PGS-tested FET --> BFN

    I'm so sorry for your loss. I too had great ultrasounds up until 2 days before my loss at 10 weeks 5 days. It is such a cruel turn. I am really happy to hear that you have a supportive doctor and family and friends. You also have you wedding to look forward to!
    It's a hard road but try to things one day at a time. Sending warm thoughts

    Is investigating why the embryo didn't develop a road any of you took? My doc mentioned we could have testing done on the tissue after the D&C but she also said it wasn't necessary. This was my 1st pregnancy and 1st miscarriage and I had genetic testing done last year with an all clear. I feel like if we were to test, it would just make it harder and I would feel more at fault. Advice?

    So sorry for your loss. There are many of us who had mmc and I know it is a shock when you had thought things were going well.

    I too had a missed miscarriage. My doctor said that they won't do any type of testing on the first loss but if it had been offered I definitely would have done it. I'm so sorry for your loss.

    In sorry for your loss. We had testing done. I'm in the camp "more knowledge is power". It is a personal decision and I'm sure you will make the choice that is best for you.

    DX with PCOS in early 20's. IF d/t PCOS, anovulation, endometriosis, Dermoid cyst in/on Left ovary

    TTC for 3 years. (2/2011), Last 16 months (2/2013) with chemical ART; Lap HSG with D&C 11/2012, Repeat HSG 2/2013 

    Clomid, Follisim, HCG Triggers, Progesterone, Metformin

    I too had a miscarriage and it was a blighted ovum which was silent and I still had pregnancy symptoms. This was about four weeks ago and I am now feeling confident in trying again. I have a d&c this week because my body couldn't pass it. I'm so sorry for your loss. Private message me if you have questions on blighted ovens. Hugs!!!!!!
