Our peanut is two days old, I haven't had longer than 2 hrs sleep in 5 days, ok to start incorporating in one small cup o Joe? No caffeine or alcohol since we found out I was pregnant. Plz help so sleepy.......my next post will be about wine lol

Re: Can I bring caffeine back?

  • A small cup of coffee (up to 200mg caffeine a day) is fine even throughout pregnancy. Go for it.

  • I cut out caffiene while pregnant because I had gestational hypertension but I've totally brought it back. I had an iced coffee yesterday and my LO had a 4.5 stretch of sleep after so she's definitely not affected. Drink up!

  • Drink up! I don't think many of us would survive without it :)
  • Studies are showing that caffeine does not (or just baaaaaaarely) passes across to breast milk. So drink all the coffee you want/need.

  • The hospital (women & children's) I delivered at served me coffee the morning after. They specialize in this area so if they are serving it, you know it's safe!!!

I really would not be alive without it. As soon as DD finishes eating I'm going downstairs to make a cup!

DH just called after dropping kids off at school and asked if i wanted anything while he was out. I said swing by Starbucks and bring home something delicious!!!

  • Never gave it up and my kids have never reacted to caffeine.

    Drink up!

  • I gave up coffee in the first trimester but had major headaches. Told my doctor and he told me I was crazy and to go ahead and drink my coffee. Turns out that regular coffee triggered my heartburn but I was able to have a Starbucks latte every once in awhile.
I've had a few iced coffees since Penny was born and I haven't noticed anything different in her feeding or sleep. She still eats a crap ton and only sleeps when she wants!
