If it's not one thing, it's another. (Matrix sleeping positions)

edited April 2014 in September 2013 Moms

We started sleep training a little over a week ago. It's going great compared to how we were all sleeping before. LO's sleep has/is definitely improving.

However, she sleeps face down most nights. I try and move her, she wakes up crying ("How dare you wake me up, Mommy!").

She's also recently learned how to go from a crawling position to sitting up. So now? She falls asleep sitting up, bent over and her head face down between her legs. Really kid?

When she is like this, I feel like I have no choice but to move her. It looks so uncomfortable and I was already paranoid with suffocation risks while she's face down. I feel like her being bent over as well just increases that risk.

I thought DD sleeping more would result in me sleeping more. Nope. Way to paranoid!

Anyone else have a baby that loves to sleep in weird sleeping positions?

  • Ever since LO has been able to roll from his back to his stomach he now rolls onto his stomach to sleep.  Sometimes his face is down and it does  make me nervous. I have read though not to flip them over.  I know if I did it would wake him up everytime.

  • Sorry to thred jack but last night Erin cried out and I thought she was stuck facedown so in my sleep confusion I flipped her......on to her face!

  • I don't ever move DS...he sleeps in some strange positions, many face down. I don't worry about it cause he's a strong little dude and I'm sure if he were uncomfortable or having trouble breathing he'd move. Sometimes I stand at his door to check if hers breathing ok but as a STM I did all my worrying about face down sleeping with DS1 ;)
