I'm only 15 weeks but my boobs started leaking clear liquid last night. I know it happens, I just thought I'd have a lot more time before I had to worry about this.
Any STMs have recommendations on what types/brands of pads etc. they used?
I started leaking early with DS, I thought I was drooling in my sleep LOL I had no idea! I always just used the disposable ones, Lansioh.
I also suggest Lansinoh. That's what I use when I'm actively nursing. For right now though (and yes, I've been leaking enough to make a pad wet since about 13 weeks) I would also recommend picking up some reusable pads. While I didn't like them while nursing (soaked them too fast, needed too many of them), they do work well for now when I don't have to worry about changing them every hour or two.
Soooooo, you guys....FTM here....should I be carrying around pads with me just in case? I haven't even THOUGHT about leaky boobs as a pregnancy symptom!
@ yella726 My boobs never leaked with my first. At around 20 weeks or so I did get some white stuff that was stuck to my nipples (sorry for TMI) - DO NOT SCRATCH IT OFF. I made that mistake and it for one doesn't work and two hurt like hell. It is actually good for your nipples to have that. Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much about it happening during the day. Most people I know that had that happen had it during the night.
I also agree with Lansinoh. They were the most comfortable. I bought the cotton ones and bamboobies. The cotton ones got all deformed when I washed them. The Bamboobies were great once I was far into nursing and didn't leak at night. They are comfortable, but don't really soak up too much compared to the disposable ones.
I liked the lansinoh ones as well, and the Johnson ones were my second to favorite. I've already stocked up on Johnson ones due to target sales and coupons.
I didn't know you could start leaking that early! I didn't leak until after baby was born.

So, thought I'd add to the established leaky boob thread instead of starting a new one. I started leaking a little yesterday, but it's BROWN!!! Anyone else experience this? I've read that it can be normal, but I'd feel better if I knew I wasn't the only one. I have been taking care of babies and helping mommies breastfeed for 5 years, and, so far, I have not seen anything this color.
