She's Late!

Well, I was supposed to get AF yesterday, and she's a no show! POAS this morning and BFN

We're ttc #2 currently and are on our 5th cycle. With DD, I had a BFN the day after AF no showed.... so I was hoping for the same result this morning.

I've had a lot of cramps, waves of serious nausea, heat flashes and then periods of being freezing, migraines over the last week and just recently (TMI) severe bouts of diarrhea. Sore bbs off and on, sometimes severe and other times just the nipples. Lower back pain and most importantly, no AF!

Anyone get a BFP a few days or weeks after AF was supposed to show??

Well, I think if you're getting a BFN, then it's likely you aren't pregnant. You maybe ovulated later than you think you did. Are you temping and know for sure when/if you ovulated?

Not temping, but used OPK's this cycle and got a positive on the 9th of this month. My cycles have been off lately since we started ttc, so it's really hard to pinpoint it all exactly. Just hoping for the best. I've heard of some women not getting their BFP's until almost a week late! (Just high hopes I guess!)

OPKs only tell you if you're gearing up to O. Temping is the only way to confirm it. It's possible to get a +OPK and still not O. -HPT=not pregnant at this time. Keep testing every week until you get a +HPT or AF, or if 60 days go by without AF (then talk to your doctor). Good luck!

Just a simple questions, ladies. No need to bite my head off with the comments.

In my post, I did say we've been trying for just 5 cycles, so I haven't started temping. Not for any reason, other than we were trying to keep it low key. Sounds like good advice though, I might start trying.

Not ill, just might be possible signs of PMS and yes, I could have ovulated later than expected. Especially since I wasn't temping, I can't know for sure when or if it happened.

I've been on here before, so didn't feel the need to reintroduce myself. And after the swarm of semi-nasty and unsupportive comments, I don't feel welcome enough to do so.

I'm having trouble finding a community of women who are semi-supportive of others ttc. Seems to be one big anger fest towards those who don't know all the lingo or haven't read the instructions. I mean, really?

Anyway, thanks to those who were honest and supportive with your comments. I will take the advice and LEARN my cycle...

With my son I didnt test positive with a faint line until 5-6 days after my period was "due"

When I had my dating ultrasound, I was "surprised" to find my due date was changed to 10 days later than my LMP due date

Since then I have learned more about how the cycle works, and it actually makes perfect sense. Clearly that month, I ovulated significantly later than I thought I did. The time span between ovulation and your period does not change (maybe by a day if at all), so knowing that O date for SURE, will help you to know exactly when your period is really due. And temping is the only way to nail that.

So while back then I might have been one of those women who are like "Wow, I didnt test positive until 5 days late!"... now I am realizing I wasn't late at all.

Definitely check out the newbie blog... and if you'd like to learn about temping, FertilityFriend.com is a great resource, there are quick tutorial videos. I've found temping to confirm ovulation so much less stressful...takes all the guessing out of it

I'm sorry you feel this way. I am semi new (for ttcas), but I've found this to be a supportive, smart and funny group of girls. Good luck because I think this thread is going to get a lot worse then the few previous comments ....

You're clearly such an active participant around here that we should obviously pat your head and tell you you're probably pregnant, which is what you want us to say, vs. giving you honest suggestions.

I'm a day late too. Confirmed ovulation via temping and OPK, shit even FF is all "you could be pregnant!" I threw up two mornings in a row. I'm NEVER EVER late except to work (daily), my back hurts, I had the trots yesterday, etc etc etc

But you know how I know I'm not pregnant? And why I'm holding out hope but am not excited? Because BFNs. And no amount of speculating will form a baby so what's the point OP? You'll find out eventually. I know people who never turned an HPT positive and had to be confirmed pregnant with a blood test....maybe that's us, but more likely it's not.

Negative test will stay negative until you turn it positive or you get your period. This shits not algebra, negative times a negative doesn't equal a positive when it comes to pee sticks. One or the other will happen regardless of whether one of us "knows someone this has happened to"

Edited to add: I'm definitely not being mean with this comment either, I think most of us know how disappointing it is to feel like it's your month only to be let down. I appreciate the reality checks on here, keeps expectations in line and prevents major letdown. good luck to you.

We are TTC #2, but with #1 I got a BFN the day AF was due (a Friday) with a FRER, then the Monday after I did it again and got a BFP. I don't know why I didn't get a positive on the day of my missed period when it says it would give true results 6 days before, but that's what happened

I got a BFP on an FRER the day of my missing period. But I only carried him to 19 1/2 weeks. I guess he wasn't a keeper?
