My dd is 16months old and still chooses breastmilk over food she's never taken a bottle of any sort and she is a VERY PICKY eater she will take a bite of some things sometimes but it's not enough to make her full it's more of a taste. I'm struggling with trying to get her to eat more food then breastmilk, I feel like she still eats off my breasts like a newborn. Im pregnant with baby #2 and I do plan on tandem nursing but I would love if she took interest in food more often. Any tips mommas??
Re: HELP me mommas!!
Good Luck!!
DD1 wasn't a picky eater, but she preferred the boob over food every time. I called her a little milk monster. She refused WCM. So from 15 to 18 months she didn't gain any weight. She was still a decent weight over all, but she wasn't eating enough.
I really struggled with this because she loved to nurse. I needed to get her the proper nutrition though, and also I was having a hard time keeping up with her demands to nurse constantly. I ended up going to a LLL meeting. The moms there were great, and told me that I should set some boundaries with her. I had been nursing on demand before, and at this point I put her on a schedule. I nursed her in the morning, before and after nap, and before bed. She put up a fuss for a couple of days, but then got the hang of it. The routine was good for the both of us.
I got pregnant not long after, and ended up weaning her.
