I am just wondering if anyone else has a nickname their their new baby before they are born? Our nickname for this one is the Fox. Anyone else have a nickname?
DH calls ours Kevin. 1) for the bird in the movie Up. 2) one of the minions from Despicable Me is named Kevin. I call the baby LO. H is not consistent with Kevin and I do catch him calling baby LO also.
We called DD "bean" while I was pregnant with her and we've continued even though she's 4 now. I haven't really been calling this one by a nick name. I've slowly started calling her "baby girl" now that we know what we are having.
We call baby squish or the squish a la finding memo. We find out tomorrow the sex and have names selected so I'm sure we will start substitiung their actual name in.
We are calling this LO "Baby" for now, and will switch to "Brother" or "Sister" when we find out if baby is a boy or a girl...I'm afraid those sorts of nicknames, though super cute, would confuse my 2yo...we are having a hard time explaining the baby to him as it is.
I've been thinking of the baby as "Little one" but DH's friends have collectively named it Baby Wolfpack Taco (because who doesn't love tacos??). I sort of love that they came up with that, although it's short for Baby Shipyard Wolfpack Taco Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho. Yep.
I called DD Baby O. Our last name starts with O. This baby is just baby. You get so much less imaginative and think about the pregnancy so much less the second time around with a toddler to chase after. At least that is how I feel.
I've been calling this one "baby" or "bean" but SO likes to call it "baby Archibald" for some unknown reason. It's funny, but that is NOT a name on our list, lol.
Me: 30 | DH: 4/12/85 - 6/16/14 | Quinn Patrick born 9/28/14
When we were asking DS1 about what names he like for the baby he said "troll". We started jokingly calling the baby troll or troll-y.
This makes me laugh! It reminds me of a coworker who was talking with his 3 older sons about what to name their little brother once he was born. Someone suggested "mashed potatoes" and the nickname stuck and still comes up like 10 years later. It makes the kid so mad but it's a fun little joke that I'm sure they'll treasure for years to come once "mashed potatoes" learns to embrace his unique nickname.

I started calling it Spot, because I was having so much spotting early on. My husband was kind of creeped out about that once he figured out my reasoning, so that nickname hasn't really stuck.

LOL! LOVE IT!!
When people ask us what we are naming our LO, we tell them "Shabambu La-nuk-nuk Abasuqi Anderson" There's no shortened version. People generally get the hint pretty quickly though that we aren't planning on sharing the names after that!
I introduced DS to my belly and Tim him there was a baby in there. He poked my stomach and said, "Boop?" Turns out he was asking if my flabby stomach was a third boob. But the name stuck. We now call LO Baby Boop.
With DS, we called him Tadpole because I like frogs- but also because we were naming him Theodore and I was trying to find a way to secretly sneak in Tad as a NN. Tad never stuck, but Tadpole is still used on occasion.
We were fortunate to know we were having a girl even before we knew we were pregnant and we already had the name picked out so she's gone by Lucy since the moment we knew she was there. Even if we wanted to change her name at this point (which we don't) we couldn't, lol
It was called Nannai (the name of the resort where she was conceived) But now that we know that she is a girl, we call her Gabi that is a nickname for actual name (Gabriela)
It's either baby or babe. Here lately, it's been very inappropriately called little shit due to the stubbornness at all of our ultrasounds. Trust me, it's only between me and DH (and now all of you) though... I definitely don't say that to others.

Am I missing something? How is this possible?
edited to bold.
We did pgs (pre implantation genetic screening) with IVF. We did it to make sure we got the embryos with the right number of chromosomes, but it will also tell you xx/xy. I was planning on being team green, but when the dr handed me the rresults, I couldn't help but look.
DH nicknamed our LO "Schroeder" and even though we found out that it is a girl, we keep using it. I suggested the female Peanuts character names but he didn't like any of them.

My husband is the Nickname King. We call each other all sorts of disgustingly cute names all the time (only in private, I promise!)
Needless to say this baby already has all sorts of names. We most frequently use "the babel" (bable?) but we also work off of the fruit/veggie of the week and hold onto the especially cute ones--thus "sweet pea" and "raspberry" are still in circulation.
We have a thing about not declaring a name until we meet the baby, so we called DD "Bean" and we've been super creative and are calling this LO "Two" for the time being.

DD has taken to giving my belly kisses and saying "I love you Baby Brother." It might be the sweetest thing I've ever seen.
