Once a week visits already @26w (who_dat)

So the past couple days have been a whirlwind. Let me back track to this weekend, DH and I noticed that my belly had already dropped and accompanying that was super uncomfortable pressure "down there". I had my regular OB appt for Tuesday anyway, so I just waited to say something to my doc then, when I got to my doc appt, my bp was consistently elevated so I was sent over to L&D for monitoring. They did all the routine stuff, hooked me up, blood work, US, etc.... I had been there about 3 hours already, so I sent my mom out for some food, I eat half my lunch and the nurse walks in and tells me not to eat anything else, I was going in for surgery in a few hours, that I needed a cercleage placed.... Cue freak out! My OB comes in a short time later telling my that I have starting "funneling", my cervix was really short and baby girl was head down, right on top of my cervix, I needed to cercleage placed so that I wouldn't begin to dialate anymore. A few hours later, I was wheeled into to OR, got an epidural then had my surgery. I spent the night, my doc says I am now on STRICT bedrest and I can still go into preterm labor so we just have to take it day by day and week by week. I will begin seeing her every Tuesday starting this coming Tuesday. I'm so scared, why can't anything be easy for me?! She told me it would probably be best to go ahead and have as much ready for baby as I can "just in case". I also have to take a pill every six hours to keep contractions at bay. Please just keep DH and I in your T&P, we need baby girl to cook a bit longer!!

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry you're going through this but I'm so glad that the team around you is taking every precaution to make sure baby girl stays in there for as long as possible. I'll definitely be thinking of you and YH. Sending lots and lots of ((((hugs)))).

Oh wow! I am very sorry that you are going through this, but it is very good that they found out soon and they are taking very good care of you. I hope everything goes well and the baby stays inside as much time as possible. Hugs.

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Bed rest can work wonders; try and stay calm, hydrated, and rested. I served 5 weeks of bed rest when I started dilating at 31 weeks and I made it all the way to 38 weeks (after hanging out at 3cm for most of the bed rest), so you really can buy some serious time. Netflix, Kindle, and your family/friends are going to get you through this with flying colors! ((hugs))

I'm so sorry .

I had funneling/shortening with both of my kids. With my daughter, they discovered it at 22 weeks. I was put on modified bed rest (my cervix had a little bit of length - around 2.5cm at that point - so no cerclage or strict bed rest). I ended up getting to 35w4d with her when my water broke and she was born.

With DS, I was on 17 OHP from 16w-36w. I took the oral medication to keep contractions at bay (I forget the name right now) from 30w on. I was also on modified bed rest with him. After all that, we had to induce at 39w4d and he was almost 10 pounds!

Take it easy, take it one day at a time, and DON'T GOOGLE!!! You are being monitored carefully which is huge. Every day counts and I really hope you make it to full term. ((hugs)) I know what it feels like to be a ticking time bomb. Just really try to take it easy and let your mind rest. I actually had my DH disconnect the internet because I would google like crazy and get so anxious.
