3 days old- question on output

Hi, my DD is 3 days old. I have been feeding on demand and she eats frequently. I am able to hand express some after feedings. We were discharged yesterday afternoon and she has not pooped since then. Should I be concerned? We have a pedi appointment in the morning. I think my milk just started coming in this afternoon, and she had a large amount of poops in the hospital (LC said above average) so maybe that's why? Her urine output has been fine but the color still seems a little dark.

I wouldn't worry. I'm sure your LO just already moved everything that was already in her bowels, so she'll probably go again in a day or two. As long as she's peed at least 3 times today, there isn't anything to be concerned about, especially with seeing your doctor tomorrow.

Congratulations on your LO! The pedi will be able to tell you for sure, but it sounds normal to me. Once the newborn poops begin, they don't stop so enjoy cuddling instead of changing diapers every 15 minutes
