Everyone is happy and healthy over here. No complaints, only sleepless joy. The best part is family time with DH and the babies. The most challenging part was never getting milk to breastfeed :(

My girls are almost 3 weeks. Spent 12 and 13 days in the nicu. Home for about a week now. Just trying to manage the girls and my 3 year old.

Biggest challenge is that the girls won't latch to breast feed. They got used to fast flow bottles in the nicu. So I pump. The amount of bottles/pump parts to wash is insane. I feel like I am never caught up.

I can't believe I have one month olds. Biggest joy is just snuggling them and watching dh w them. Biggest challenge is breastfeeding. Latching was causing anxiety so were almost ep. I'm frustrated because my supply won't keep up w them. Its so much work for not much to show but my guilt won't let me quit. :/

Hey ladies! We are making it here! I just love these little guys! They are wonderful. Yesterday we made it one whole day breastfeeding without any supplements ! My greatest challenge has been dealing with my own recovery. I had a very difficult delivery and lost most of my blood--spent 3 days in icu and had 8 blood transfusions. That left me really weak and tired. I have given over so much to my family, but I wish I felt like myself. The trauma dr told me to expect 1 terrible month and to feel like myself after 3 months. Ugh

@kdarden15‌ - sounds like an ordeal! Glad youre on the mend. After 7 weeks I still dont feel healed. 3 months sounds about right. Congrats on Bf!

@megs3084‌ i had similar problems with latch and supply. I supplemented as my supply couldnt keep up with 2 hungry girls then decided to wean last week. It was agonizing. I cried for days but in the end i am so relieved to not pump 4 hrs a day!! Good luck. I hope it works out bettr for you but do try to let go of the guilt. ((Hugs))

@littlelady77 - sleepless joy for sure

My greatest joy is seeing dh swoon over his girls. And middle of the night cuddles :) BF was a huge disappointment for us. I never expected issues we had with latch, supply and the emotional aspect. Hats off to the lucky moms who are able to make it work! Im glad my girls got mommy milk for a few weeks. I just wish I could have given them more.

@Jenn06L80‌ - glad your littles are home from nicu! Im tired just reading your post. Hope you are getting some help and some naps!

I am not on the list but just saw the thread and am busting in!!

The boys are 3+1w old now and I love them to death. My one challenge is sharing my time between the two. I know it will be fine but I am slightly envious of singleton parents (ok, really envious) that they get to hold their baby ALL day and snuggle them and bond with them. I have to put mine down as soon as I can in case the other wakes up and the one in my arms isn't ready to be put down.

Also, I have bonded with Patrick because he was breastfeeding from day 1. DH bonded with Carter because he was able to go visit him in the NICU and do skin to skin. We always gravitate to the same baby, even though we try our best to switch. Ahhhh, so hard!!!!!! Anyone else have this happen?
