Babies R Us registry - new rewards program?

I feel like I'm getting screwed, lol. When I registered at BRU, they had the VIB program and you got back 10% of anything bought from your registry on the VIB card, up to $200. They switched to a new program as of 4/1/14, but it doesn't look like any of those bonus points transferred over (I couldn't even find any info on the VIB program at all on the website). FWIW, you can't get the benefits of the new program if you registered before April 1st, either. I feel like I just got beat! I'm figuring we all registered around the same time, anyone else see these emails? Am I missing something? Should I call and complain tomorrow or will I look stupid?

I don't know the program for sure, but I thought the VIB and 10% back up to $200 were two different incentives. I thought I didn't sign up for VIB cause I was planning to breast feed and cloth diaper. I haven't gotten anything that said this was changing, although I see that it is not what is currently on their website. If you do call, please keep us updated.

Okay, and here is info on VIB. It looks like for that program, you earned 10% back on baby essentials not just registry items. If there is money on it already, I think they will honor that. https://www.toysrus.com/shop/index.jsp?categoryId=13251887

Their programs are always a hot mess. I get literally a minimum of one email a day from them regarding my registry so I just delete them now. Ain't nobody got time to be bombarded like that!

I felt it was sort've sam-like to begin with because my impression was you basically load all your money onto their "VIB" card which was really a gift card and you're basically forced into spending your money there.

My girlfriend told me she kept getting those rewards in $5 increments. Like $5 to use until 4/30/14 and then the next $5. I don't know though. My friends and family looked at my list but didn't buy off my registry

Since your registry was created prior to 4/1/14, it still qualifies for the Sweetest Registry Deal. It is like 10% back from the items purchased off your registry, even after 4/1/14. Here is a copy of my chat with a rep from 4/12/14, because I felt like I was getting screwed too.

KristaLyn: Hi. My name is KristaLyn. I have a quick question about the registry that my husband and I started back in the fall.

KristaLyn: I see that there is a new promotion for registries started after April 1st, and was wondering if the 5%-15% promotion would apply to any of the items purchased off our registry after April 1st

Kaycee: Unfortunately, this won't apply to the purchased made on the registries made before the 1st, because it depends on when the registry was made, not when the purchases were made

Kaycee: This is not available to any registries created before 4/1/14. So because your registry was made before this date, the purchases won't count toward this promotion
Kaycee: Did you registry for the sweetest registry deal?
KristaLyn: yes
Kaycee: Then you should still get the sweetest registry deal for your registry.
KristaLyn: Can you remind me what that deal entails?
Kaycee: The sweetest registry deal is sort of the same as the endless earnings one. For the sweetest registry deal you earn back from the purchased made.
Kaycee: A Promotional Gift Card valued at 10% of the items purchased from your registry will be emailed to you approximately 10 weeks after your expected arrival date
KristaLyn: Now will that include the items purchased April 1st and after?
Kaycee: Yes it should. The sweetest registry was taken off of the site, but this just means no more registrants will get the sweetest registry deal offer. They will get the endless earnings one.
KristaLyn: ok. Thank you so much for your help
Kaycee: The registry's that signed up for the sweetest registry deal will still get everything

This is exactly what happened to me. I ended up losing the first 5 because it wasn't worth 5 dollars for me to go all the way to the store to get something (and online you have to pay shipping so....). Also, what in there costs 5 dollars that is worth a special trip? I feel like it is a ploy to get you back in the store/on the website to buy more things

I don't recall signing up for the sweetest registry deal...is that something we automatically get signed up for? If not, I feel duped! I created my registry back in January.

It is automatic once you reach a certain amount. Not sure what that is though....

There was a minimum of $200 purchases made from registry for the "Sweetest Rewards" program. At that point, you earn 10% back, up to $2000 (or earned $200). At $200, you will earn $20. According to the person I spoke to, you will receive an email voucher for the amount, not in $5 increments (as in, if you earned $27, you will get a $27 coupon). This is treated like a gift certificate, and is valid for one year. It can be used for any online or in store purchase.

I just want to state - this is my understanding after calling this morning. I am hoping they are true to their word, but I guess I won't really know until I actually go through the process.

VIb was only diapers, wipes, formula and baby food purchases. you or family/friends put money on the card and bru matched the value by 10% (up to $200 a year). The $5 reward coupons are different. Thats your money back from purchases made with your reward card. When people buy from your registry and supply the list with barcode, your rewards card is automatically linked. They stopped mailing these coupons. You have to log in online and print them.

I just got a $5 rewards r us coupon in the mail today, along with my completion coupon. My understanding is that the sweetest deal comes in the form of an email gift card.

Also - I didnt ask about this, but after reading fine print, it seems the Sweetest Rewards coupon does not come in until 10 weeks after your EDD.

I get the $5 periodically and read the gift card ($200 if your registry purchases are at least $2000) gets mailed to you 10 weeks after your due date.
I got my 15% completion coupon and bought up the rest of my registry...and I may have gone a bit too far with how much I ordered so I may be returning a few things lol
