Had my 2nd u/s today

Well, since it seems like many people are having good u/s reports today, I want to join in on the fun!

I had my 1st u/s Thursday at 5 weeks 4 days, but continued to have brown spotting and some discomfort so I went in today for another scan, when I should be 6 weeks 2 days. We saw a HB at 97 and measured 5 weeks 6 days. My beta came back 11,401 and p4 23.

My RE is really happy about all of it and said this early measurements can be off a few days. He also wasn't concerned about the low HR, said at this point they like to see it between 90-100. 'Of course my PgAL brain is in overdrive. DH keeps reminding me I never saw the HB before, which is true, and I should just focus on what the RE is telling me. Last loss, (w/a different RE) I was told there was a HB but it took forever for the tech to find it and she didn't show it to me-I did see a flatline on the screen but who knows what really happened there. RE also speculated spotting could be from being on daily aspirin because they didn't find any reason. Only brown, varies yellowish-dark brown, never red, but still hate seeing it at all.

If I never read any stories on here, I'd be so much more optimistic and thrilled based on how the nurse and RE reacted, but of course I'm concerned when I read what others are seeing at this point. I go back next Thurs for the next u/s. Hopefully more growth and higher HR then!

In most cases, the heart just starts beating around 6 weeks, so I'd say you're on the right track! Congrats!

This is what the nurse said too and that since we didn't see it Thursday, she bets it just started in last day or so. That is what I am holding on to!

Thanks everyone for the replies! I am actually pretty relaxed this time around-not sure if I'm more numb now, or if the fact we have a plan if this one doesn't stick around is giving me hope, or if I am more optimistic, but last time I was a anxiety ridden wreck and this time feeling pretty OK. I have zero symptoms except some odd food aversions. But I really like my RE and I am repeating over and over to trust him and just take each next appointment as a milestone of sorts.

Awww love, sorry about the spotting. I really hope it stops very soon. I'm glad that LO appears to be growing and that you had a heartbeat, this is fantastic! I agree with LunaBug that the heart most likely just started beating, so I think that # is a good one, along with your beta and p4!!

FWIW, I'm at 8w4d and I don't have many symptoms. Early on I had some nighttime nausea off and on. Wolf nose hasn't started yet (but I've been battling congestion/allergies). My boobs are sore from time to time but nothing constant. Fatigue--this is the only thing I can really complain about, but it just started within the last few days. So try to remind yourself that having symptoms doesn't mean anything and not having symptoms doesn't mean anything either.

Right now there is a tiny lil human growing inside of you, it's confirmed and there is a heartbeat. These are all wonderful things to focus on. Grow LO grow!!!!! Sending you love and growing vibes and fx for a great scan next week.

Congratulations on a heartbeat!! I went in at 6w exactly, though now I realize it was 5w6d, and they just saw a sac. When I went in at 7w exactly there was a baby with a healthy heartbeat! They didn't tell me what the heartbeat was at that time, just that everything was "normal." FX for another great ultrasound next week
