I looked and didn't see any other threads about this so sorry if it is a repeat. Does anyone plan to use a belly support or wrap or binding method postpartum? Have any STMs done this before? Pros and cons, is it safe?
I used control top high waisted slimming panties with my other pregnancies and intend to do the same with this one. I'm not aware of any "cons" with it but the "pros" are - gives support to your stretched out stomach muscles, helps get into your regular clothes sooner, and holds that god-awful giant post partum maxi pad in place and keeps leakage to a minimum.

I haven't honestly researched this enough though. It seems like PP your organs and stuff are all over the place, so I'm not sure how safe it is to bind up the belly super tight and try to mush everything back in.
I do have a bridal shower and
bachelorette party one month PP and a wedding where I'm the MOH 2 months
PP. Granted all eyes aren't going to be on me, but let's be honest,
people are going to be checking me out to see how I look 2 months PP
after twins lol. I'd like to at least wear Spanx or something for those
days.
I wore spanks after my first to cram myself into pants without looking like a half baked muffin top. Supporting my belly wasn't even part of my thought process haha. I have seen several different "methods" such as support bands, girdles, and even some that look like a fabric thing you wrap and tie. I'd like to hear about all of these that anyone has used to see what might work best. That thread is very informational about the support band type ones, thanks @Pepper6 and @katekat8721.
I used the belly bandit with my first and loooooved it. Hated to be without it because everything felt like mush. I still have it and plan to use it again. Oh and I used it as soon as I fit it around which was day 2 pp.
I'm planning on using one. Not sure how soon after I deliver, that is ok to start using one. (im guessing about a week)
Alot of the stuff I've read says those first 6-8 weeks are key for binding due to some hormone... Uh preggo brain on the name... And a lot of the stuff I have read has also said they start day one if possible. I imagine a c section would not make that very comfortable but as long as everything goes smoothly I think I may start ASAP. The link I posted earlier said binding can help "push" out the blood naturally so it will stop sooner too. Kinda like how the doc tells you to massage downward while your pottying to help push it out.

A lot of women I've talked to said that binding immediately after their c section helped a ton with their pain and gave them stability while they healed. My OB is putting one on me right after she stitches me up.
ETA: she's not putting one as strong as the belly bandit on immediately after. It'll be more like a heavy ace bandage. I'll switch to the belly bandit when I get home.

Thanks for the info. I am totally clueless when it comes to this stuff. Now it makes seance to wrap as soon as I can.
I used a girdle right after I was discharged. I loved it! Like @becomingmommyagain said it helps get things back to normal quicker and helps with leakage. I will have to find a new one because I was quite a bit smaller before my first than I am now

I read before that a lot of celebrities wrapped, but not sure what they used.
