Success after IF

3T Lurker again.. Success Stories w/ 5 mature follicles & MFI?

Hi Ladies, I am stressing myself out on Google lol... I was supposed to have my third IUI today, but it was cancelled due to too many mature follicles. I had 5 ranging from 17.5-20 the morning of trigger. My RE recommended to not have sex, but said we could go for it if we were comfortable with multiples. We we are comfortable w/ twins (but HOM is obviously terrifying) and decided to go for TI since we are MFI w/ 2% low morph and borderline normal/low count/motility. Looking for success stories. DH hasn't been able to get me pregnant naturally in over a year, so I figured he wouldn't hit more than 50% of the eggs. That was my justification anyway. Just wondering if you all have any success stories of 1-2 little babes in a case like mine? I know we will cross that bridge when we get there.. but I just had to ask! TIA!!

****siggy warning****

Pregnancy Ticker

Re: 3T Lurker again.. Success Stories w/ 5 mature follicles & MFI?

  • My husband has 0% morph and borderline count and motility.  With my successful IUI I had two mature follicles and got pregnant with a singleton (I was also 39 at the time.)  I have also gotten pregnant three times without any medical assistance where I can assume I only had one egg so moving forward with 5 would freak me out.

Here's to hoping to one successful fertilization.

Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

  • We had success the second time around with I am guess one egg. MH has 1% morph and low motility. It only takes one good swimming sperm right? That being said there is always the possibly of 3 or 4 or 5 eggs being fertilized or an egg splitting.

  • There's a chance that 1 or 2 eggs will be fertilized. But there's a similar chance that all 5 would. I am actually quite surprised that the RE wasn't adamant about avoiding intercourse. So even if others have an experience where they had 5 follicles and only one fertilized, that may not be your experience.

This is exactly what I was trying to say but couldn't find the words. Sending tons of thoughts and prayers that this doesn't result in HOM.
