Overnight diapers

Does anyone here use different diapers on LO at night? We've been having some monster leakage issues lately and I'm wondering if overnight diapers would really make that much of a difference. Also do you cut LO off from liquids at a certain time? DS usually has a sippy of milk about 45 mins before bed but I'm starting to think we just need to cut out liquids after a certain hour. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Re: Overnight diapers

  • We go a size up at night...so DD's in a 4 during the day and a 5 at night...I try to change her right before I put her down, even if she's asleep already. We don't have a cutoff time for liquids, but she usually doesn't drink anything the last 30-60 mins before she goes to sleep.

  • OK, I swear I had a response typed out but it's gone!

We use Luvs and don't buy overnight diapers.  I bought 2 packages of overnights when they were on sale and when we ran out I used a regular diaper.  Before Luvs we used Pampers and they always leaked on us, Morgan would wake up in the middle of the night to be changed.  Since switching to Luvs we haven't had one blowout problem and no middle of the night changes.  I don't limit her fluid intake at all and she usually is drinking right up until bedtime.

  • We use the papers baby dry at night. They started leaking and we bought a larger size and have not had any leaks. We do not restrict liquid intake.

  • Thanks ladies! We use pampers baby dry (we started with Luvs but those didn't fit him right). I'll try a size up!

  • The only ones that worked at night for DS was Huggies, with Milla it's luvs. She's starting to be extra full, not quite leaking, in the morning. She's only 22lbs, but she's been in 4s for months. I might switch to 5s at night. The target brand leaks at the legs on her, so that sucks.
We don't limit liquids. She nurses at bed time and once around 1am.
