Hi Ladies! I hope things are going well in your TTC journey's. I realized I have posted a lot of questions based on articles I hae read or things that are topics of conversation by women I know, but I haven't provided too much context. I figured I would take
@beaubecca 's lead and post some background info before diving in.
I read this article this morning:
https://shine.yahoo.com/parenting/letter-pre-parenting-self-kind-jerk-192400684.html1. How well "made-up" were you during your first pregnancy? Do you think it will be different this time around? Were you a judgeaholic before babies?
2. What indulgences did you have while pregnant with LO1 that you're not so sure about the next time around?
3. How did you tell your SO when you were pregnant the first time? What will you do this time?
Re: TTC Check in
I'm not very frilly when I'm not pregnant, but I made it a point to not go out of the house in sweats, I had to wear real clothes. I hope to maintain that the next time. I still judge pretty hard core. I feel like it may have gotten worse now that I am a parent because I feel like I "know" what's best. DH has to remind me of a perspective check.
2. What indulgences did you have while pregnant with LO1 that you're not so sure about the next time around?
Bi-weekly pedicures and a few pre-natal massages. I can't afford that next time around. Maybe Dh will at least learn how to give a foot rub.
3. How did you tell your SO when you were pregnant the first time? What will you do this time?
He had to read me the test because I couldn't figure out what the lines meant at 3:00 in the morning. Next time, I'm taking a digital test and pretending to be really creative and original while really just stealing ideas from pinterest.
2. My indulgences were treats; cookies, ice cream, milk shakes, slurpees, etc. I will try to be more disciplined the next time around since I know I will show sooner with the second baby and don't want to blow up.
3. I wrapped the pregnancy test and gave it to my H. I asked, " Are you surprised?" When he opened it, and he said "not at all. It only takes us once." (Second pregnancy, both happened the first time we tried). I would like to shock him next time.
2) I was insanely sick until week 21 so I didn't want to eat much the first half and I had a lot of food aversions. The only thing I craved was Krispy Kreme donuts. I allowed myself one a day as long as I had ate well throughout and at least went for a walk.
3) Nothing special. DH does not handle stress/uncertainty well. He had to be right there when I took the tests. I'm surprised he even let me pee alone. I'm sure the next time around he'll be right there staring at the stick, having an anxiety attack. Not in he hopes it's negative way. When we got the positive test with DS, he showed me the registry he had already started at BBB. He just wants to know right away, like the second sex is over.
