I dug new beds (two for veggies, one for ornamentals), weeded another bed, and added more compost and top soil to the hugelkulture bed. I've never done some much prepping before, I hope it pays off.
Well I'm going to get and start seeds this week. My chives are doing well (perennial so they do their own thing) and the frost is finally out of the ground enough to think about gardening.
Some of my indoor sprouts crapped out. So I'm going to re-seed those pods and do some transplanting this weekend (weather permitting). I noticed some of my marigold seeds are starting to sprout outside. I harvest them every year so I still have tons of seeds if another frost comes through.
My spring vegetables (potatoes, carrots, lettuce, spinach) have come up and are starting to grow nicely. We did have two nights near freezing last week that my potatoes weren't thrilled about.
I planted the summer stuff (tomatoes, peppers, cucumber, squash, basil) today because the lowest temp on the 10 day forecast is 45.
