3rd Trimester

29 weeks - pressure and discomfort

So this actually brought me to the doctor out of concern - turns out all is ok but I must say I was convinced something was up.

I have some serious pressure in my vagina and some mild discomfort in my pelvic area when walking. I feel like the baby is kind of low. I tried walking and every few steps I feel the same pressure again. Anyone else feeling these lovely symptoms!? Will it pass or is this part of the third trimester :(

  • I've been feeling this pressure since around 20 weeks! Same thing happened in my first pregnancy. This LO is worse though. I'm dreading the discomfort that's to come within the next 2 months.
  • I feel it too at 28 weeks. Its the worst feeling.
  • So glad I found this! I give been feeling the same way some days. It happens mostly towards the end of the day, but not daily. I described it to my husband that it felt like a bowling ball in my vagina.

  • Yup, and it's worse for me at night, especially when I get up to pee.

  • I know the feeling, it comes and goes though.

Is it maybe related to baby's position?
  • I feel it too! My baby is currently breech- I don't know if that makes a difference for the pressure.
  • I'm feeling the same thing. Baby is very low with his head on my cervix. By the end of the day all the parts just hurt.

I'm just starting to get the uncomfortable pressure. Wait til LO decides to kick/punch your cervix. I was getting zingers in my va-jay-jay all last night. I even tried dancing around to get him to move, nope.

  • Perfectly normal! It is much worse with this pregnancy than it ever was with my first. I feel like this one is going to fall out every time I go to stand up. And the lightning crotch is ridiculous! It's like this child is playing soccer with my bladder!

  • I started getting the same feeling around 29 weeks, I came to the conclusion that she is just getting ready for her arrival and getting comfy. It does go away, but it makes me excited to think that things are moving along the way the should.
  • Yep, and lucky for you it only gets worse.

  • Like everyone else has been saying this is normal...I didn't feel it with my first until the very last month but I have been feeling it now with my second since I was mid-second trimester. I think it's just that the baby's head is now in you pelvis, unfortunately it gets worse the more you progress.

It's happening to me too and I'm in week 28. It's worse if I've been sitting a long time and then stand up. I don't remember feeling like this with my first pregnancy but this one has been completely different from day one.
  • Got the same problem!!! He doesn't do it every day but mostly happens after standing a bit at work! Not comfortable but it is just part of the joys of pregnancy.
