LO is sick WWYD (some tmi)

 So T is all of a sudden sick this morning. He has diarrhea (3 diaper changes in as many hours, all of which blew out), and just threw up. I haven't been able to get him to sit still to get an accurate temperature but he feels a bit warm, and he's a little pale. This is all a first for us. Would you wait it out for a few hours or call to get him into his doctor now just to be safe? TIA.

7/5/11 MC at 8 weeks. 5/17/12 BFP, twins EDD 1/20/13! 6/20/12 Baby B's heart has stopped beating. 8/31/12 Baby A is a boy! And is perfectly healthy and thriving. 1/19/2013 emergency c-section, Thoren is perfect. 3/1/2013 told i will never be able to conceive again. 12/16/13 told they were wrong!

    Oh yikes, hope it's very short lived for Thoren! If it were me, DS hasn't had a stomach virus yet...knock on wood, I'd call his doctor. 

    From other mommas I've heard to offer like a tablespoon of water or Pedialyte until they have gone awhile without throwing up to keep them hydrated. Avoid all food. Books, cartoons and snuggle time. And a friend of mine said to just keep extra sheets around to cover yourself up while you hold LO, that way if they do throw up you can throw the sheet aside and grab a new one.

    Mack had a stomach virus before. It was not fun! Had to stop giving him milk and only give pedialyte- fed him toast, bread etc. he barely ate but never seemed to reach a fever of concern and his third day he seemed to be better but then it came back so brought him to the doctors and they said to just keep doing what I was doing. Throwing up stopped after fourth day and diarrhea took about ya week and a half.

    Ugh. Both my LO and I came down with some sort of stomach bug on Easter. We're both so miserable! I called the help line, but they said to just keep him on the BRAT diet and offer water or Pedialyte frequently and to call if it wasn't gone in 72 hours. Its been 48, and he does seem to be getting better. He hasn't thrown up but does have bad diarrhea still. So. Gross.  Hope your little one recovers soon!!

    Oh man, we went through this in February. So rough! Keep an eye on him. We did see the pedi the next day, and I'm glad we did, because she was sick for almost 2 weeks. That said, pedialyte, BRAT diet, snuggles, PBS kids helped. DD HATED pedialyte and the pedi ok'd sugar free juice.
    Our little Samosa arrives in January!

    Our DS got the flu like this back in March. It was awful watching him be miserable. Luckily, ours only last about 24 hours. Once we realized that it was the flu and not just some kind of random puking incident then we just started giving him pedialyte only. (he like the strawberry flavor the best) and then slowly started introducing small amounts of food into him. We really just pushed liquids for almost 48 hours to keep him from getting dehydrated. It went around to pretty much most of his daycare---and I had several stay at home moms also have their kids get it around the same time. 

    The worst was despite my crazy insane santizing efforts---DH and myself got it. Except I probably had it the worst. Hope your little one feels better soon!

    All three of us had it the week before DS's birthday.  We were down for the count for about 24 hours, and then slowly started to feel better after another day or two.  DS kept with the diarhea for about a week though.
    Me: unexplained infertility - annovulatory DH: testicular cancer survivor!! TTC since June 2009 BFP May 11, 2012 EDD January 24, 2013 June 1, 2012 - first u/s, heartbeat 124 BPM!! June 22, 2012 - heard the heartbeat 9w1d 181 BPM!! 24 hours of labor, 4 1/2 hours of pushing, and IT'S A BOY! Welcome to the world my miracle, we prayed and prayed for you, and we can't believe you're here!
