So over the weekend Morgan decided she was going to be an early riser, she usually sleeps from about 8pm until 7am, not this weekend!! She was up at 5 am Friday (had it off for Good Friday), Saturday and on Sunday! At least on Sunday she went back to sleep until almost 6:30 so I had time to shower before church.
She's also decided that every single time we tell her no she cant' do something she's going to throw herself on the ground, no matter where we are, and scream. Not cry...SCREAM!!! We were at the park and she wanted to go down the slide but there was a line so I said no, we would have to wait and she threw herself on the grass and screamed like I was hurting her!!
Oh, and DH....all I have to say about him (because I don't know who is reading my posts anymore....Kimberly!) is he is a turd and needs to be slapped.
WTF Monday: I have to go to work today for an education day. It's a beautiful day and I'd much rather take L to the park and/or take a nap (probably just take a nap!), but hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to work I go!
@excitedaunt2b, I feel your pain on all 3 fronts. Skye girl usually goes down between 8:30 - 9, she doesn't have daycare so if hubs can sleep in then great. She usually sleeps until about 8 or 8:30am except now on the weekends and she doesn't want to take naps either. I take over when I get home from work around 6pm and on the weekends I do all the work, no big deal, hubs is a SAHD during the week as I said, but now on the weekends, she's up at 7:30 and depending won't take a nap until after her 12pm meal. Last weekend she was up at 7:30 and would not sleep until 3 and then it was only for 45mins. I love you child but for the love of god take a nap.
Skye throws her things when she doesn't get her way and then will scream like we are murdering her. We had the windows open on Saturday, I hate to think of what the people outside heard. LOL
My song for hubs is Pink's True Love song. "Sometimes I want to slap you in your whole face."
WTF Monday...my I laws were here over the weekend and left today, thank God. My FIL was about to drive me insane. First off, he kept calling my MIL (who is DH's stepmom) Mom instead of Grandma in reference to DD. For example, DD would be sitting in her lap and he would say to MIL, "mom, Ainsley wants a drink" or whatever. I wanted to scream in his face that I am Mom and she is Grandma! Argh! WTF FIL!
Then, we would go out to eat and he would always order French fries with his meal and proceed to feed them all to DD, despite my asking him not to several times. I don't care that she has a few, but I wanted her to eat something decent before he started filling her up with junk. It pissed me off that he would just completely ignore me when I told him no more fries multiple times.
He was also appalled that I would not let him give her any Coke. I told him she has never had so much as juice and she was absolutely not to have any type of soda. To this he says to DD..."oh, just wait till we have you on our own. You can drink all the coke you want and Mommy won't be there to stop it." Um, ok. At least he acknowledged that I am her mother that time. Luckily, they live halfway across the country and we rarely see them. He drives me up the wall.
@prncebride The nap thing is my LO too! Up around 7 and will not go down for a nap! I actually don't mind it, I'm able to get errands done without worrying about him missing his nap. He'll usually fall asleep in the car for a half hour or so.
My WTF Monday... where in the world did my birth control go!!! I searched everywhere and cannot find it, brand new pack, took it last night! I'm worried LO got a hold of it but he hasn't been left alone really in the last 24 hrs and he'll normally hand me something new he found or at least show me. I caved and paid out of pocket for a new one because I was worried it would screw with my migraines if I skipped a whole month.
WTF family... Yesterday was mostly good, but also fairly annoying. My step brother and his wife were way late, so dinner got pushed back and DD totally started to melt down. I swear they will miss their own funerals being late.
Then, my sister calls from 90 minutes away 30 minutes before dinner to say that she wishes that she was there and that she can't stand missing holidays with DD. Um, okay. First, she was invited. Second, she's seen DD maybe three times in 16 months... Hardly involved.
Oh, and she insists on talking to me in baby talk now that DD is born. We don't talk like that to her, why the eff would you talk to a 32 yo adult that way? "Are you having lamb-ie or ham-ie for din din?" "We're having ham for dinner."
Am a tad late, but we had our Easter with family, and the usual older Aunt still just doesn't understand why LO won't go to her. According to her, family trumps my coworkers (who see LO on an almost weekly basis & still won't go to).
Same person had what appeared (once again) to be a cold and was touchimg LOs face after wiping her nose (and NOT washing her hands). Fortunatly my excuse of a dirty diaper needing to be changed (not really the case but got LO immediate distance because I am not going to knowingly expose her to more cold germs).
Finally, same person gave LO a chocolate Easter bunny. Very sweet, however not appropriate for a baby.
@jac409 my father has made a few similar food related comments about soda / junk food. Have told him each time nope. Just goes to show, they won't have LO around much if decisions cannot be respected.
Right now we're not having a problem with inappropriate foods with mil and lo, but I know we will as she gets older. Mil has been told repeatedly not to give her other gd (bil & sil daughter) give her chocolate and sugar, but she does anyway. She give her cups of juice and said what, it doesn't have sugar, it's juice and what it's a piece of chocolate, not junk food. I love my mil but this will not happen when lo gets older or she won't be able to see her w/me being there.
My mom opened a bag of mini m&m's for Morgan after I told her not to! She had just eaten a breakfast bar and then my mom gave her the m&m's. I hate when she does that, she says oh it's just one. If we tell my mom no and she does it anyway and we get mad she pouts!
Based on some of these posts I think I need to wait until FFFC and add that I have given LO small pieces of chocolate.
@jac409 - maybe they are just saying mom instead of grandma by mistake out of habit. I have heard that several times with my ILs. I think after 30 plus years of them referring to each other as mom and dad when DH is around it just sometimes slips out especially since that haven't been referring to each other as grandma and grandpa for that long. If they are saying it all the time that is weird.
My WTF Monday one day late is that it took me about 25 minutes to get out of my parking garage and drive around my building to get on the street I needed to be on. With no traffic I can get home in about 25 minutes.
Oh we have given Morgan chocolate, but I don't want her to have it every single time we go to my parents. Most of the time she hasn't eaten dinner yet so I don't want her to have treats before dinner.
@LittleFish1 , I was thinking the same thing about them not having her on their own much if they can't respect our rules, but I didn't know if I was being too melodramatic. Glad to know I am not the only one who feels this way!
@JessAnnJ , I think that probably was the case, but he just kept doing it all weekend long. If it was once or twice, it wouldn't have bothered me, but I lost track of how many times it happened. I am also pregnant and hormonal, so it takes a lot less to get under my skin lately, I will admit.

Okay, that might be it. Night ladies!
