Bellefit PP Girdle (esp experienced moms)

I am on baby #4 and never used a PP girdle BUT I know I have diastasis recti and am debating the Bellefit to help get my muscles back in place. I am a runner and even with good diet, exercise & weight loss my abdominal muscles never went back together after my 3rd baby.

Any opinions, experience with this product?

Re: Bellefit PP Girdle (esp experienced moms)

  • I know @MrsCase1‌ had a thread a long while back about girdles but cannot remember if this is the one she talked about. She seemed to have researched many of them though so perhaps she'll have some feedback.

  • Thank you! I will look into this article!
  • I'm curious too as I'm also on number 4!
  • I had a friend message me that she used the bellefit after #3 and LOVED it!!! Said totally worth it.

What I have learned so far is that there are several styles.
    1) The "pull up" one is for straight bodied women with no hips/defined waist. This is what my friend used and she said she could barely get it pulled over her straight hips at first.
    2) the corset one and side-zipper are good for hips/defined waist and allow more flexibility. both adjustable with claps.
    3) corset more-so for cesarean sections. But may show under fitted shirts.
    4) side-zipper good for hips, vaginal or cesarean section. may be hard to zip up first few days but you eventually get into it.
    4) have to wait to measure your hips after 36 weeks for sizing.

I'm still deciding if I want to spend the money on this on my last kiddo but I know I have diastasis recti that never healed between kiddos.
  • I didn't have the muscle separation so I can't speak to it helping that but I live and SWEAR by the belly bandit. It is designed along the lines of traditional binding women have been doing for thousands of years. It wasn't obvious under clothes and I felt the price was reasonable.

  • I have a friend who just had Baby #2, and this time she's using the Bellefit (the hooks up the front one). She says in just one week she's lost 4" on her stomach. So...I'm def getting one!
  • I just went & looked at both of these & am finding it difficult to make a decision. MrsCase1 did you find the belly bandit comfortable?

I am a FTM and have a short torso, but an hourglass figure so I am worried about it rolling up or moving around a lot.

A friend used it and she has a short torso. She said it was always rolling up
  • I'm planning to get one. They are kind of pricey, but definitely worth it to me if I can avoid a permanent pooch.
  • If I get one, I think I will do the side-zipper one. I'm only 5'3" and definitely have a short torso. Reviews and videos I watched all said the Bellefit doesn't roll.

Im 5'2 with a short hourglass figure. I had the belly bandit after my son and loved it! It didn't roll at all. I had a c section and it was amazing! I plan on using mine again!
  • They have a generic zipper one on sale on Groupon right now for $8.99. I bought it. If it sucks, then who cares? It was only $8.99 :-bd

  • what about just a regular girdle? I used to wear them under my uniforms at work and I still have all of them. I want to try to wear one after but didn't know if they would hve the same affect as the ones designed for postpartum.

  • I'm so glad you asked this question - I was researching this yesterday.  I'd never thought about getting one until I went to a friends' baby shower over the weekend and one of the hostesses was raving over hers.  She just had her 4th kiddo (4th CS) and said how much it helped her recovery.  She said the difference in recover between her 1st and 2nd CS recoveries were remarkable and she got the Bellefit with her 2nd.  I'm not planning on having a CS, but she swore by the Bellefit so I think I may order one.  I may wait until I have the baby to make sure I don't have to have a section, but with Amazon Prime, I'll get it when I get home :).

  • I'm torn between the two as well...the crotch flaps are whats deterring me from the Bellefit...I can't imagine wanting snaps and what not in that area or a snug fit if you're dealing with stitches, bleeding etc?

Reviews/videos all said to just leave the crotch snaps undone for the 1st week or so.
  • Mine did not roll up. :)

  • I didn't use one after pregnancy #1 but just bought one for after I delivernthis time and can't wait to try it.

  • I am going to bump this post and add on that I contacted customer service to ask which style had the most benefit purely for repairing diastasis recti. Their response was the dual closure or corset style. I am guessing having the clasps down the middle of the belly helps pull the muscles together.
