Pregnant after a Loss

wishing my nausea was more regular

So I have nausea off and on but not regularly. Its definitely not even an everyday thing. I'm on vacation right now so I really shouldn't want to be nauseous, right? I am supposedly somewhere in the 6w range, but it hasn't been confirmed yet. I do not have a LMP to go by because I had a miscarriage in late Feb and never had an AF in between. I am getting my first U/S on Monday but I have been so uneasy about whether I am progressing normally. In fact, my version of nausea is usually just acid reflux or just a lot of indigestion. Has anybody experienced a normal pregnancy with irregular bouts of nausea? I have other symptoms like sore boobs and fatigue but little to no nausea. Incidentally, I didn't feel so great this morning so I don't know why this worry is hitting me today.

Re: wishing my nausea was more regular

  • Don't worry about it too much! Every woman experiences symptoms differently, and every pregnancy can be different. My symptoms were (are) really irregular as well. I had my strongest nausea from weeks 6 through 7, but then symptoms went MIA until about week 11. So I was physically feeling fine for about 3 weeks, although of course it did make me uneasy because I didn't "feel pregnant". Since week 11 I've had random bouts of nausea/gagging and fatigue, and I'm 13 weeks now. Sometimes pregnancy is just weird! Hang in there.

  • My symptoms have been on what seems to be a cycle - it freaked me the *&^% out until I figured out what was happening.  I get 1 super awesome feeling day, 1-2 mildly crappy days and 1 super crappy day. So my level of nausea (or headaches or fatigue) is definitely not the same every day.  Now I look at the awesome feeling day as a little bit of a gift :)  Good luck to you and enjoy your vacation!

  • My nausea did not hit until week 9, since then it has been pretty consistant.  I was happy to have the nausea as I feel it is a constant reminder that my babe is growing in there.  But before the 9 week mark I was sure I would not have any at all.  Just know that it is completly normal to have symptoms come and go.

     PAIF/SAIF/PAL/SAL welcome!

  • With this pregnancy I only JUST started feeling nauseous around the 6-7 week mark, and it was very inconsistent. I felt the same way you did and just wanted it to manifest into full blown m/s so that I could know for sure. Well, be careful what you wish for! Right around 7-8 weeks I became so sick that I had to be on Zofran daily until about 16 weeks just to function.

I don't really wish that on you, but I do hope that whatever symptoms you are having, or aren't having are all good signs that things are progressing as they should. It's hard not to over analyze every little thing at this point. FX for a great ultrasound on Monday!

I really had no morning sickness at all and never threw up from nausea. I have progressed nicely and my rainbow will be here any day now.  I don't think a lack of nausea or irregular nausea should make you worry.

ETA: I know it is easier said that done to just simply "not worry." I didn't mean to sound condescending as I know PGAL brain makes us worry about every little thing! I just wanted to put your worries at ease.  I mean, I was so crazy about checking for sore boobs that I groped myself and pinched my chest all the time in the beginning.

  • I had very irregular nausea an sore boobs up until week 7- to the point that one day my boobs would ache, and the next day they were fine! Same with nausea. At 7 weeks, I woke up with m/s and had it almost every day until 12 weeks. Now it's on and off again, and I'm 14w5d. You might experience an intensifying around 7-8 weeks. Enjoy it until then, and good luck with your u/s!

  • Thanks everyone!! Your responses are very reassuring. I know that everyone has a different experience, but it is still helpful to hear from those of you who have "been there"!
