Dishwasher Husband Woes...

My husband has to be the world's worst dishwasher loader..:| no matter HOW many times I have kindly pointed out that he needs to NOT over fill the dishwasher and to make sure nothing is sticking through the grates to prevent the sprayer from turning and doing it's job ::sigh:: HE NEVER gets it right.. ~X(  I have told him I would rather he NOT do the dishes if he can't do them properly. I have never asked him to wash them.. I got it under control and I actually enjoy doing the dishes...:x I feel sick when I open it up and realize I not only have to wash them again but I have to waste water and detergent AND I have to place the extra dirty dishes in the flipping sink that I painstakingly sanitize every flipping day while I impatiently wait for the load to go through a second wash. I REALLY wish he would stop loading the dishwasher lol.. to me it's just MORE work in the end..  I would rather he clean the toilets if he feels the need to clean  LMAO. Why can't he have the desire to clean toilets? Or the shower.. Or scrub the kids booger wall.. those jobs he can have without me saying a word and he would be shortening my workload!  :D    I feel better getting that off my chest without nagging my husband with my constant  :-@

  • DH loads my dishwasher juuussst right IYKWIM.
LOL even if he did load it right I wish he would stop.. I realllllly enjoy doing it lol..
  • Mine does the opposite -- he will put about 5 plates in and insist nothing else could possibly fit. He packs the car the same way.

  • Booger wall? Barf.
YES! And we have told him to stop and use tissues!!! We thought he stopped but then one day I pulled his bed out to spray bug spray, (as we do in the spring for the entire house) and SURPRISE!
  • Booger wall? Barf.
Hey, I mean...a dedicate wall. At least that shit's contained.
and he's not eating them.. that would disturb me more than the wall.. I gag when I clean it though.
  • Ummm, do we have the same DH? Mine does a ridiculously horrible job every. time!

  • My H loads all the big pots/pans/Tupperware (so like 5-7 total pieces & dishwasher is full) & leaves 27 dishes/cups in the sink. OR he could have loaded the 27 other things & just washed the handful of big stuff. But that he doesn't seem to comprehend lol

My brother used to stand up on the top bunk of the bunk bed and wipe his boogers on the popcorn ceiling. Mom was pissed when she found out.

DH is washing the dishes now. Literally, not figuratively. I'm just glad I don't have to do them, and I wouldn't say I have any DH dishwasher woes.
  • My DH doesn't load our dishwasher enough and it drives me nuts. I can fit twice as many dishes into one load, so i'd rather he didn't bother b/c its a waste of water and time.  I basically told him his job is to empty the dishwasher I will fill it.  He certainly didn't fight the issue as its less work for him, ha.  The only time he will load it is if i'm working a lot of double shifts and not home to do it.
  • My mom made my sister clean her booger wall and that shit stopped.

Dh tries to be all picky about how dishes are handwashed (like a certain amount of soap and certain temp water). Then I told him every time he nags I will hand him the dish rag, and that if he can find dirty spots after I'm done I'll learn to do it his way. He never found spots and stopped nagging.

I'd make your h redo the messed up load.

Holy shit @vandelay‌ I swear we are married to the same person. MH thinks that all plates need half a rack to themselves. And for car trips I now just have him bringall the tthings down to the car and I put them in. He swears that there is no wayiit will all fit. Then boom.
Ha -- yeah, I pack the car by myself too to avoid having to unload and redo it anyway. DH just stands by and offers helpful tips like "there's no way all of that will fit," and then magically it does. Hilariously, one of DD's early full sentences was "Das not gon fit."

  • @RondackHiker‌ I used to micro manage Dh when he washed the handwashables too. It would always lead to a fight! I've learned to unclench. :)

  • We use the dishwasher as a massive drying rack. My H is a chef, so he spends any and all free time COOKING things. Random things. Things that apparently necessitate every single pot and utensil we own.

Sooooo, we wash by hand and let everything dry in the dishwasher. Otherwise we'd be running that thing 3 times a day.
