Ug Tooth Fairy Fail AGAIN (NBR)

Obviously not baby related... DD lost another tooth yesterday. And this Mama forgot AGAIN to put the money under her pillow.

I'm not sure what else to do! This time the tooth fairy was "too lazy" to go upstairs. I just keep forgetting. When I do go up, she's still awake.

Mom's with older kids, how do you deal with this? She's not ready yet to give up the tooth fairy or Santa. She still believed they have seasonal meetings for the Council of Legendary Figures with mother nature, cupid, and farther time...

  • Loading the player...
  • My parent never put money under our pillows. We were told to put the tooth in a glass on the window seal in the kitchen. The next morning there would be a dollar in place of the tooth. It worked for us. :-)

  • My mom forgot once. Apparently it fell behind my bed. So she came to help me look and shoved a dollar behind the mattress. So maybe look harder later.
  • I forgot one time with a foster child. I told him i bet the tooth fairy just couldn't find it so the next night he left it with a letter to the tooth fairy and wrapped it in a paper towel under his pillow so that it would be easy to find :-) I felt awful but I don't think I ruined it for him!
  • Thanks for all the suggestions! She and DH decided to cut each other's hair this afternoon and she now has a short Bob. I asked her if maybe she thought the tooth fairy couldn't find her tooth beneath all her hair, lol.

  • We haven't lost any teeth yet, but I'm sure we're close.  I bought a tooth pillow and it will go on the night stand so I don't have to deal with putting it under the pillow and waking them up.

I'm sure I'll forget a lot.  I can't tell you how many times I forgot about the stupid elf on the shelf and had to either get up in the middle of the night to do it or try to distract the kids in the morning before they noticed so I could move it.

  • Also, DS was talking this week about the tooth fairy and asked me what she does with the teeth.  I had no idea how to answer it.  DH thinks it's funny to mess with the kids, so he told him that he thinks she eats them and it freaked my son out.  Now I wonder if he'll even want to leave his teeth out for her.  lol

  • @+adamwife+ That totally sounds like something my DH would try! LOL
