So I am currently 5w4d pregnant still breastfeeding my 16month old daughter, I've asked a few doctors and they said it's completely fine to bf while pregnant during a low risk pregnancy. Today I saw a new doctor and he said breastfeeding during pregnancy is not safe? I've had 3 other doctors tell me otherwise, any thoughts on this? Has anyone breastfed during their pregnancy??

    My lactation text said that it's safe unless your doctor has concerns about breastfeeding causing possible preterm labor due to the oxytocin released while breastfeeding. But that would be if you were already at risk for preterm labor based on previous pregnancies.

    This. I'm 21wk and still BF my 13.5mo. My OB has not said anything negative, and my pedi said to BF as long as I want. Although he assumed I would wean before #2 arrives. I haven't really decided on tandem.

    My OBs discouraged another pregnancy during LOs first year because of concern about adequate nutrition, breastfeeding an infant, and pregnancy. But at your LO's age, breast milk isn't the only source of nutrition.
