Newfoundland is not known for its great shopping but my favourite places I have access to are

Clothes for myself: Dynamite for cheaper work clothes or Psediuo for brand name things (may get a Newfoundland store)

Clothes for Lo: old navy, children's place, or Carter's

Groceries: dominion (sadly I gave no sobeys nearby), Costco whenever I have the opportunity (4 hours away)

Shoes for myself: I usually just buy something at Globo for general footwear, sport chek for sneakers

Household things: sadly Walmart, we gave no target here.

Decorative house stuff definitely homesense of a small store in my town

  • I'm a bit jealous of you Torontonians with your selections!

@Sympkin I would like to do a local fruit/veggie delivery too! I am on the hunt for a local place that does that.

@WesternDiva I'm not very familiar with Safeway! Is that a western thing? Same with @weddinginthecover and Dominion! It is sad that Costco is 4 hours away from you!!

  • @No longer the best
Safeway is a western grocery store. They do air miles instead of metro. No Costco here either - closest one is 9 hours away. :(

  • @No longer the best‌ I think Dominion may be the Newfoundland brand of lob laws?? All I can tell you is it's terrible and most fresh food there is already rotten when you buy it. Costco being that far away is really sad, but you better believe I stock up and spend a fortune when I do go there. @WesternDiva‌ 9 hours is way more sad.

  •  like megsw85, the nearest big city is about 2 hrs away.  I do shop online, but I still make it into a Edmonton for the essentials pretty frequently...

Clothes for yourself: RW & Co, Banana Republic, The Gap, The Bay. (Also shop in the States whenever I can, for me and LO)

Clothes for LO: Carter's, Gap Outlet, Superstore (Joe brand)

Shoes for yourself: Aldo.  I honestly rarely buy shoes.  When I do, they come from Aldo.  Or DSW in Phoenix

Groceries: my town only has Sobeys and Extra Foods.  I frequent both.  Always make a Costco run when I'm in the city, and sometimes check out Safeway cuz the city stores have cooler, specialty stuff that we don't get in the boondocks

Kitchen stuff: Home Outfitters, Homesense, Ikea

  • I only came in here because I LOVE Canada and like to read threads like this so I can pretend to live there for a few minutes. Carry on.
