Not eating

edited April 2014 in December 2013 Moms
For the past week or two lo has not been eating much. It is a fight to get her to eat during the day. And she has been much more fussy, only wants to be walked around standing up or starts crying. She has never acted like this before. She just turned 4 months. Any ideas? In worried because she's not wanting to eat during the day

  • Teething?

  • Is she acting hungry and then not eating? Or not acting hungry at all?

  • Is she bottle fed or breastfed? If breastfed, is she not eating at all, or only eating for a short time?

  • She is bottle fed formula. She eats her hands constantly but she has been doing that for months. She also is drooling. She acts really fussy so then we think she is hungry but then refuses to eat after a few sips.
  • Teething would be my guess too. If she consistently hasn't been eating well for 1-2 weeks you need to be calling your Pedi asap.

  • You said she isn't eating during the day-is she still consuming the same number of ounces on a 24 hour period but mostly eating at night?

  • She is eating at night but not that much. Maybe 8-12 ounces at night. So she's def eating less then I think she should be.
  • I agree with PP, I think you need to make a call to the pedi. Just to make sure your LO is ok. It could be teething but if it's been 2 weeks, I'd wonder if it was something else.

  • Could be constipation? Is she having regular BMs? I know LO refused her 1/2 of her bottles a couple days last week & I took her in, & we determined that constipation was causing it.
