Re: **Monday Ticker Change**

  • Week/Fruit: 36/honeydew

How are you feeling? not too bad--my back was hurting yesterday but walking helps a lot.

Appointments/Updates? My first weekly appointment/cervical check is on Thursday. I'm excited, even though I know it really doesn't mean anything.

Rants/Raves: Rave: My friend had her baby last night, one week early and on my birthday! :) Rant: Boo, Mondays/work

GTKY: Do you have your going home outfit picked out? Bonus points for PIPs/links! I am still trying to figure this out. I will probably take two outfits, a newborn and a 0-3. It will be a short ride home from the hospital, and I don't think we will do anything fancy--probably just a cute sleeper or something.

  • S'up Monday?!?

    TWO WEEKS TO GO!

Week/Fruit: week 38/pumpkin (feels more like a bowling ball that wiggles and hiccups)

How are you feeling? i've turned a corner. all the pregnancy uncomfortable-ness is still there, but my excitement about becoming a mother has taken over. i'm so happy and lovey these days.

Appointments/Updates? week 38 check-up is on Wed. not sure what they'll do different from other appts...cervical check?

Rants/Raves: Rant: SPD still hurts like a mutha-you-know-what. Rave: nursery = finished, hospital bag = packed, carseat = installed, DH = very generous with the foot and back rubs. This week = last week of work before 5 months of mat leave. La vita e bella!

GTKY: Do you have your going home outfit picked out? Bonus points for PIPs/links! Keeping it simple. We're team green, so we have simple grey pants w/footies, a white kimono shirt for Peanut, and a yellow hat with a peanut on it. Oh, and a diaper: Peanut will definitely be wearing a diaper.
  • Week/Fruit:  37 (holy crap I'm term!), winter melon

How are you feeling?  Getting increasingly uncomfortable and ready for the end, but bearing in mind that he'll come when he's ready.

Appointments/Updates?  Just had my 37 week appt. this morning; I'm 80% effaced, ~1cm dilated.  Crazy stuff.

Rants/Raves:  I actually got to spend the day with DH yesterday (we almost never have days off together), which was awesome.  But now I'm back to a busy 6 day work week with a baby that has decided to position himself on my sciatic nerve and keeps nearly making my leg go out.

GTKY: Do you have your going home outfit picked out? Bonus points for PIPs/links!  We do; the hospital bag is good to go :)  Since we're not sure how big he'll be we've packed both a newborn outfit and a 0-3 month outfit.

  • Week/Fruit: 35 weeks/35 days to go! Coconut

How are you feeling? Feeling very uncomfortable especially when trying to sleep!!

Appointments/Updates? Our next appointment is in the beginning of May. So far we know the baby is measuring fine and that she's already head down! :)

Rants/Raves: Wednesday I go back to work from Spring break but it will be exactly one month until I go on maternity leave!

GTKY: Do you have your going home outfit picked out? Bonus points for PIPs/links! I haven't decided yet on an outfit.
  • Week/Fruit: 38 weeks/pumpkin!

How are you feeling?: Pretty good actually. I've had a cold for the last week, so that's no fun, but I had one about a month ago too and this one isn't as bad. Gives me perspective I guess?

Appointments/Updates?: Next appt is tomorrow, we we'll see.

Rants/Raves: Rant: I really should have set my last week for this week ... I don't want to work up until my due date now. :( Rave: I'm feeling pretty prepared. Nursery is done, carseat installed, etc.

GTKY: Do you have your going home outfit picked out? Bonus points for PIPs/links!: Ok, don't judge me. I had a onesie and pants ready to go but DH really wanted something nicer for pictures. I don't think he realizes how difficult it will be to get LO into this without a whole bunch of fussing but we got him this little outfit. We also have a little newsboy cap for him.

  • Week/Fruit: 38/pumpkin

How are you feeling? Overall, pretty good. A little swelling and some back pain, but that's it.

Appointments/Updates? 38 wk appt is tomorrow. At 37 wks I was 70% effaced, 1cm dilated. I'm curious to see if anything has changed.

Rants/Raves:Rave: All I have left to do in the nursery is hang letters, which I plan on doing today. Rant/Rave: I start maternity leave next week (woohoo), but I have sooo much grading and lesson planning still to do.

GTKY: Do you have your going home outfit picked out? Bonus points for PIPs/links!
I actually let DH pick. Right now he has 2 different sleepers picked out. One with butterflies and one with a cat. Both are pink. I may take one other outfit that is a little cooler, since it is starting to warm up quite a bit.

How are you feeling?: Swollen and tired!

Appointments/Updates?: Appointment on Wednesday. She couldn't reach my cervix at my last appt, so I'm hoping to get more of the deets (dilation, effacement, etc!) after this one!

Rants/Raves: Rant: I gained 3lbs last week. I know it's all swelling/water, but ugh seeing those numbers keep on crawling up really stinks. Rave: I've been getting crafty and making bibs and hats for the baby. They are keeping me busy and actually turning out pretty cute!

GTKY: Do you have your going home outfit picked out? Bonus points for PIPs/links!: We have 2 outfits packed out. One is a sleeper/bib combo that is really soft and nice, and another is a onesie with matching accessories. They are both newborn size, but the onesie set looks a bit smaller than the sleeper. We'll see what fits when he arrives!

  • Week/Fruit: 36 weeks/Honeydew Melon

    How are you feeling?:
My legs are really sore all the time (upper/inner thighs, mostly right) and this baby has been nestled all up in my ribs on my right for a couple of weeks, so I'm uncomfortable but overall I feel pretty good, all things considered!

    Appointments/Updates?:
Appointment this afternoon - first one since growth scan at 33 weeks.  I think I get the GBS test today, fun.

    Rants/Raves:
Rant - we still have a lot to do before this LO arrives, and it's starting to dawn on me how soon that could happen! I painted the drawers to the dresser this weekend, washed some old baby blankets my mom kept from when we were kids, and we hung curtains in the nursery, but still so far to go!
Rave - my coworker is having her scheduled C-section today! Her due date is 3 weeks before mine (so technically she is due next week) but that just makes it so real for some reason! Can't wait to see pictures of her baby!

GTKY: Do you have your going home outfit picked out? Bonus points for PIPs/links!: I'm hoping to use the outfit DH bought before Christmas when we found out it was a girl (but it was still our secret, we revealed to family at Christmas!) ... I hadn't even bought any baby clothes at the time and he was so adorably proud when he came home with this precious little outfit!  It's a 0-3 mo so I'll bring a couple of newborn onesies too just incase, but I have a feeling this baby girl is going to be a monster.

  • Week/Fruit: 37/Winter Melon ... I've entered the "any day now" phase ... I'm so excited!!

    How are you feeling?
Pregnant. All the typical aches and pains associated with being 9 months pregnant. I just don't think my body was meant to carry this much weight all out in front. My back and feet are not having a good time. But I was still able to go to yoga yesterday, so I'm pretty proud of myself for that. I've started having the typical "period like cramps" over the past few days, so I'm hoping that means my body is gearing up to pop this baby out semi-on-time.

    Appointments/Updates?
Appointment last week was typical, this week will be my first cervical check. At 38 weeks they start doing the cervical sweeps ... not really looking forward to that, but evidence does show it can help reduce the need for induction, and I trust my OB.

    Rants/Raves:
Rave: We put the car seat base in on Friday, that was big check-mark for me. Pretty much everything is ready to go (hospital bags packed, cloth diapers prepped, arrangements for dog while I'm in labour worked out, etc.). The shorter my list of pre-baby to dos gets the more I realize this baby is coming .. like ... soon! It's kind of scary.
I think it's hitting my husband as well. He was even practicing cloth diaper folds with me this weekend. It's fun to see him excited like that; he holds his cards pretty close to his chest most of the time.

GTKY: Do you have your going home outfit picked out? Bonus points for PIPs/links!
I probably packed way too much, I have a couple of sleepers and  2 onesies with pants too (newborn size). Then I packed 2 sleepers in 0-3 size. I figure it's nice to have options, and tiny baby clothes don't take up that much hospital bag room anyway.
We have some cute newborn stuff, but at my showers the cutest clothes/outfits we got were for 3+ months (I have some killer cute 6 months outfits). So it's basic puppies and airplane theme clothes for newborn stage.

How are you feeling? Feeling fine, some minor rib pain but my doctor ran some tests and she thinks its just baby stretching out, so just muscular/skeletal pains.

Appointments/Updates? 38 week appointment this Friday. Still only 1/2 cm dilated and 25% effaced, I have a feeling this baby is going to come late.

Rants/Raves: Our place is a mess. We still have so much to do. I'm going to try and pack my hospital bag this week, but still have a lot to get!

GTKY: Considering I don't have my bag packed yet, I definitely don't have my LO's outfit picked out yet. We got a ton of clothes so I'll have to pick one out of the pile. I can't believe where the time has went!

How are you feeling?  I'm starting to wonder what the hell I was thinking getting pregnant with multi-joint osteoarthritis. Today is rough.

Appointments/Updates? Appt today at 4:15p. Really hoping there's no comment on weight gain today. I feel like I'm retaining gallons of water.

Rants/Raves:  Just a rave that our nursery is pretty much all done now :) I feel much more at ease should Genevieve make her arrival early.

GTKY: Do you have your going home outfit picked out?  Not really. I'm not planning to pack anything for her. I'll send DH home after she's born to pick up what we need. I'm so nervous about her being too tiny for any of the clothes we've bought or been given. DD was really small for being term.

How are you feeling? Best day I've felt since last Thursday, tired today but have had to do a lot around the house to prepare to go back to work.

Appointments/Updates? Had my update appointment last Friday, doctor said the longer I can keep him cooking the better, she's just hoping for one more week. Taking the procardia as needed and resting when possible. She said she didn't want to see me until my next appointment May 6, let's just hope I can make it that long, she goes on vacation next week.

Rants/Raves: My biggest rant is I really hate having people do stuff for me and the side effects of this procardia. My biggest rave my MIL, Father, Sister, Bro in Law, and Aunt how took care of my ailing family last week, between my husbands hospital stay and emergency surgery last week and my pre-term labor issue on Thursday, we had someone here taking care of stuff around the house for 6 days. It was nice to have some support.

GTKY: Do you have your going home outfit picked out? Bonus points for PIPs/links!

Oh yes, I have a few outfits picked out so I'll decide which one I like best one we get there, I packed my official bag on Thursday night after I got home and realized that Sh*t got very real.....

How are you feeling? Eh not too bad physically and energy wise. Sleep has gotten a lot lighter- I wake often and don't seem to hit deep sleep until like 4am.

Appointments/Updates? Had MFM today and peanut is still breech- the butt- and measuring 6#13oz which is a 1.5# gain in two weeks! And they really want to either induce or schedule a section depending on of she gets with the program and turns head down at 39 weeks which for them (as they go by my LMP and I go by my ovulation) is may 16 so at least it's 39.5 weeks in real time.

Rants/Raves: I am starting to lose
Hope she will turn. I am on my 4th week of chiropractor and 6th week of doing all the spinning babies techniques and she is still stubborn frank breech. I will likely be trying a version may 5 or 6th as a last ditch effort. So I am mentally preparing myself for having to do a section which, as a natural birth med free birth hopefull with a doula, has been difficult. But what will be will be and in the end I just want a healthy peanut on my arms.

GTKY: Do you have your going home outfit picked out? Bonus points for PIPs/links! Yep- one NB cute pink and white dress/onesie and one 0-3 month pink dress with a monkey.

    Week/Fruit: 38 weeks- pumpkin?

How are you feeling?: I am mentally ready to be off work and for him to be here. From a physical aspect, the lower half of my body starts aching more as the day wears on. I am working until the Friday before my May 5 due date, so I only have this week and next week left if he doesn't come before then.

Appointments/Updates?: My next appointment is Thursday, and I should have my first cervix check. I know it supposedly doesn't mean much, but I never progressed on my own with DS1. I am hoping some progress will mean my VBAC may be more likely.

Rants/Raves: I guess my only rant is that I am working up until my due date! A rave would be that I only have two weeks until my due date and leave from work! Also, I walked into one of my classes today and found myself in the middle of a surprise "mini shower." My co-worker decided to bring cupcakes to class and had the kids all sign a sweet card. She also gave me a gift card, which was unnecessary, but very thoughtful. I was definitely surprised and felt so loved/appreciated. :)

GTKY: Do you have your going home outfit picked out? Bonus points for PIPs/links!
I am pretty sure he will be wearing a white and navy "little brother" onesie, pants, and striped jacket home. I bought it in size newborn, so I may bring one of my 0-3 outfits just in case. I don't expect him to be huge though. My estimate based off DS1 is between 7-8 pounds.

  • Week/Fruit: 37/winter melon.  They made that up, right?

How are you feeling?  My pelvis hates me, and my hands and I take turns falling asleep at night.  This time is much more uncomfortable than last time.

    Appointments/Updates?  next appointment=Friday

Rants/Raves: Rant: I wish DH's one semi-creepy uncle would stop drinking, and get his life back together.  I mostly really like spending time with the family-in-law, but ever since the creepy uncle separated from his wife way out of state and moved back among the majority of family, it's just not my favorite.  Rave: Benjamin is talking more and more all the time.  (He's also displaying signs of terrible-two readiness, but the talking is mostly really cute.  Focus on the positive.)

GTKY: Do you have your going home outfit picked out? Bonus points for PIPs/links!  I'm going to bring some footie pajamas along in case it's cool enough to need that, otherwise this baby is following in his brother's footsteps and wearing the hospital shirt and a diaper home.
