Has your school calendar come out for next year?

I am trying to make vacation plans for August, and our school calendar isn't out yet, so I can't make a reservation. I feel like they are behind the ball. Is yours out yet?

Uhh ours doesn't come out until August! We get it in the summer, late summer. Maybe 3 weeks before school starts. But it doesn't get in the way of summer planning because we go back in September (and we vacation in June/July and sometimes August) so it doesn't really matter here.

They will let us know the first day of school, though.. usually on the last day of school we get a note saying "we'll see you on September xxx!" so we always know. But nothing else.

This is us too. Schedule comes out in August and we always start in September.

Isn't it relatively standard within your district? Does it vary much from year to year? In Michigan, there is a state law that says school can't start before Labor Day. Winter Break is generally the same week/days each year in each individual district. Spring Break is by county is always the first week in April, other counties tie their break to Easter. Other than teacher PD days and conference days, the schedule does not change that much. I would just ask the teacher or call the district. I am sure they know, but haven't released it yet.

Yes ours comes out around spring break.

We always start after September 1st though. (Or on September 1st)

We don't have ours yet for where we're moving out of or where we're moving to. It looks like where we're moving to starts before Labor Day but I'm not sure!

Yes. Ours was approved about a month ago, although it's always fairly similar each year. Ours does not change once approved by the school board.

Thanks for the advice. It says it was posted last year in February, so I was expecting it sooner. We attended a different school last year. Anyway, I called and at least got a start date...August 21. So I guess I won't be able to schedule that vacation. : ( Booooooo!

Do schedules vary by school in your area? Ours are scheduled by county. All county schools go by the same calendar. Can you check online? Our is posted to our county's school system website once approved.

That would drive me crazy. I guess that's one advantage in being in a super type A, high strung area. They're very good about planning and letting people know the calendar way in advance. I can't imagine the uproar if they gave us the calendar in August.
