Infertility (inability to conceive after a year of trying for <35 or six months if >35) is something one in eight couples struggle with. Chances are, I'm not your only facebook friend either currently dealing with it, or has dealt with it in the past and has come to a resolution. It's a fairly silent disease as many feel isolated or shameful of the diagnosis. For those who suffer silently, this week I will help be your voice. Infertility is not your fault and nothing to be ashamed of! Want to know more? Resolve.org is the best resource! https://www.resolve.org/infertility-overview/what-is-infertility/
Yesterday I changed my pic to...1 in 8, and my banner to the resolve(below) with some other pics. Today I added: Infertility affects approximately 10% of the population. Since infertility strikes diverse groups-affecting people from all socioeconomic levels and cutting across all racial, ethnic and religious lines- chances are great that a friend, relative, neighbor or perhaps you are attempting to cope with the medical and emotional aspects of infertility.
"This week is National Infertility Awareness week (April 20-26). Infertility is a disease that affects 1 in 8 couples and is a condition in which couples cannot conceive a child within 12 months of trying or cannot carry a child to full term. Although it terrifies me, I'm coming out of the proverbial closet. I am the face of infertility. Chances are, I am not the only person you know that has struggled in silence. Unfortunately, couples usually struggle in silence and guilt and it's something that I am working on overcoming. This year I had decided to share our story (with the support of my husband of course). It is our hope that speaking out will reach those also suffering. If sharing our story even just helps one person feel not so alone, than my hope has been realized. "

Feel free to use what I posted or repost the blog. It's meant as a place for people to learn about IF.
