@ JJH471- congrats on your boy!! I didn't even notice the birth announcement thread!

Weeks/Fruit:

AW/Rant/Rave:

QOTW
: Any signs of baby? What parameters has your doctor given you for when it is the time to finally go to the hospital?  It is also around this time you'll see the board filling up with a ton of questions regarding stages of labor, mucus plugs, bloody show etc.  If you have questions feel free to ask- and remember NOTHING is TMI- this is childbirth we are talking about.

GTKY:  Wine/Beer/Mixed Cocktail?  I think it is about that time we can start thinking of some drink we will be having on our nice summer break!!

    AW/Rant/Rave:
SOOOOO uncomfortable the last few days. LO is smashing her head down super low and I literally feel like she is going to just fall out. (wouldn't that be nice??). I can't sleep for crap these days and I'm just super irritable and grumpy. I feel bad for DH :/

    QOTW
Any signs of baby? What parameters has your doctor given you for when it is the time to finally go to the hospital?
other than LO being super low, nothin. My instructions are to call if I have any leaking/bleeding or if contractions are 5 mins apart, lasting 1 minute longer for an hour, or if I have a continued back ache that is somewhat time-able (that one is super vague sounding to me..).

GTKY:  Wine/Beer/Mixed Cocktail?  Oh man, as you can see in my siggy I'm most looking forward to a bottle of Red Velvet red wine blend. I don't even care how cheesy it sounds it's damn good cheap wine. ALSO a blended mango marg would be perf right about now.

Week/Fruit: 38/pumpkin (oh god. I have a pumpkin in my uterus).

AW/Rant/Rave: I'm exhausted and uncomfortable pretty much 100% of the time now. Even walking upstairs is a PITA. My mucus plug has started coming away in pieces (you're welcome) and I've had some pretty bad lightening crotch to deal with. She's dropped, but I'm still getting heartburn. This is gonna be one hairy baby.

QOTW: she's in position but I think she's staying put for a couple more weeks. We have the number for the delivery suite, which we've been told to call when it starts. They'll give us advice then and were only 10 mins away in the car. As long as it doesn't happen in rush hour, getting to the hosp should be pretty easy so I'm not worried.

GTKY: I'm not a huge drinker but I have a bottle of Bellini in my cupboard that I've been waiting for since last August. We conceived when we were on vacation in Venice, so I didn't get chance to enjoy my duty free purchase! We'll probably celebrate her arrival with it once we're home from the hosp.

AW/Rant/Rave: No real complaints here, I'm pretty much feeling the same as past weeks. My DH is annoying me. Every time I do anything- go on a walk, sit on the exercise ball he thinks I am trying to put myself into labor.  No matter how many times I explain that is not how it works- I don't get a say! It just feels better to sit on the ball when you have a baby down in your pelvis!!

    QOTW
: Baby is still really low. I am now 3cm and 50%, today I had a lot of mucus so hopefully that is the rest or a large part of my plug.  They want to bring me in at 39 weeks and break my water because of my history of uber fast labor and large babies. I'd rather not have an intervention so I'm hoping this guy comes out on his own soon!  Preferably before our big old zoo field trip on Friday.

GTKY:  I really don't care what I am served...but I did stroll past the variety pack of bud light margaritas and was like whaaatt?!!  So, I may have to have a taste of the new flavors some sunny afternoon.

    Weeks/Fruit: 34 weeks / butternut squash

AW/Rant/Rave: We are done with pre-baby family visits, so now it's time to get down to the nitty-gritty: pack hospital bags, install car seat bases, whatever else I'm surely forgetting.

    QOTW
Any signs of baby? What parameters has your doctor given you for when it is the time to finally go to the hospital?

It's still early here, so I'm just waiting.  Not much going on besides being uncomfortable as usual.  I'm just hoping to go into labor on my own again and chill at home until I feel I want to be at the hospital, but it'll probably be a different story with DD this time, and we have to either take her to the babysitters or get the babysitter here.  We're only 2 minutes from the hospital though, so that's nice!

GTKY:  Wine/Beer/Mixed Cocktail?  I think it is about that time we can start thinking of some drink we will be having on our nice summer break!!

Lambic.  I just want lambic.  Peach, raspberry, cherry.  Whatever!

Rant - diagnosed with anemia this week so on iron pills for the rest of the pregnancy.
Rave - nursery is finally done and car seats are installed.

QOTW: no signs of baby coming. OB's parameters to come in for your 1st baby are contractions 5-7 min apart, lasting for a minute, for at least an hour or your water breaks.

GTKY: I'm not a big drinker normally, but now that I can't have it, I want it! Looking forward to sangria, mojitos and I hear they're coming out with a Mike's peach hard lemonade.

  • @lrmrtn‌ I've been on iron tablets since 9 weeks and once you get used to the black poo, it's not so bad.

  • @awc1986‌, so far so good. They just give me a bit of a stomach ache in the morning. I think I was just more surprised when they told me. I've never had issues before, even in this pregnancy. I just thought the exhaustion was typical 3rd tri!

    AW/Rant/Rave:
LO's butt has been riding up into my rib cage more and more. LO is measuring small, but healthy, so we're not 'concerned' but will do another growth scan at 39 weeks. DH and I aren't very tall (and we don't have many very tall family members) so we're sure she's just a peanut. Feeling great otherwise, enjoying these last few weeks of feeling LO move around inside me!

    QOTW
Any signs of baby? What parameters has your doctor given you for when it is the time to finally go to the hospital?
No signs yet. NMW has explained about calling when any contractions are timeable and consistent, and when rest/water doesn't slow or stop them. I'm going weekly so she asks me every week if anything has changed, etc.

    GTKY:  Wine/Beer/Mixed Cocktail?
I have a lot of wine in the house, and a couple new hard ciders that have come out since becoming pg that I will be enjoying after LO arrives. I'm sure I'll have DH make a strawberry daiquiri or margarita at some point as well.

It’s not that I don’t like you, it’s that I don’t know you. Stranger Danger.
  • Weeks/Fruit: 36 weeks/honeydew

AW/Rant/Rave: we finished our nursery today and took care of our registry completion yesterday. My rant is that it's hot as balls here and I am swelling because of it.

QOTW: Any signs of baby? What parameters has your doctor given you for when it is the time to finally go to the hospital? It is also around this time you'll see the board filling up with a ton of questions regarding stages of labor, mucus plugs, bloody show etc. If you have questions feel free to ask- and remember NOTHING is TMI- this is childbirth we are talking about. No signs so far. He is head down as of last week, but I'm not dialated and no other labor symptoms. We haven't talked about when I should go to the hospital yet, but I go to the doctor every week now, so maybe he will bring it up tomorrow.

GTKY: Wine/Beer/Mixed Cocktail? I think it is about that time we can start thinking of some drink we will be having on our nice summer break!! All of the above! I want to have a glass of Pinot, and good craft beer and a yummy lemon drop!

    AW/Rant/Rave:
We had a great growth scan on Tuesday! We loved seeing our little girl again- really makes me more anxious for her to come. We're told that she's very long, weighs about 6.5lbs and will probably be another 2lbs at birth, she has big feet, and she also has a lot of hair- the tech couldn't get over how much hair she saw just floating around

AW/Rant/Rave: Nothing major going on right now. Just feeling cranky when people ask me if I'm gonna pop soon. How the hell do I know?

QOTW: No signs of labor yet. Doc just wants me to call her or go in if fetal moves decrease, water breaks, excessive bleeding, or contractions become regular. Otherwise, I'm just trying to work to keep my mind off of the wait.

GTKY: I have beer, wine, and margaritas depending on mood or food, so I'll have them all.

  • @lrmrtn‌ yeah the stomach ache will pass. I've been a vegetarian for 20 years, hence why I'm on them. My midwife wants me to carry on taking them for 3 months after delivery. It's a PITA but better than feeling crappy every day.

I'm also a vegetarian and have been for 14 years so I'm sure that's contributing. I actually am starting to feel less tired now that I'm taking iron so that's a good thing. I'm not sure if they'll have me continue after delivery.

@MK1013‌, so far so good with whichever ones they gave me. I figure I'll just suck it up for the next month unless they're horrible.

    36 weeks/honeydew (yum!)

    AW/Rant/Rave:

My kidneys KILL!! I have an appointment with the kidney specialist tomorrow so we will see what he says but every time they check me at the doctor I don't have an infection. I seriously thought I was going into labor on Friday but pushing the fluids made it go away and I'm pretty sure that was what it was - my kidneys. So, that's great....

However, I finally got the car seat/stroller this weekend and got very excited when I put it together and figured out how easy it was. :)

    QOTW
    :

Like I said before, totally thought I was going into labor on Friday. The aching in my back was intense and was wrapping around to my sides but it didn't feel like the period cramps I've been told I should feel. I literally googled 'what do contractions feel like?'  I cannot go into labor until after this Friday - dh has a big exam on Friday and she just HAS to wait until after then. I'd prefer for her to wait until at least 39 weeks but if she has to come early at least not this week.

My MW has not given me any parameters about when to come in  but I figured I'd just follow the 411 rule. I start my weekly appointments this week so I'll get the group B - hoping I'm not positive - that will tell me if I have to rush in if my water breaks. I'd like to stay at home as long as possible.

    GTKY: Wine/Beer/Mixed Cocktail?

DH and I are part of a wine club that we joined in June. So we have a LOT of wine in the basement. He said to me yesterday, "you can't get pregnant right away - there's too much wine in the basement." Yup, priorities. :) I can't wait though!!

No signs yet beyond random contractions.  My doctor says more than 6 in an hour to come in.  Also if I show up to an appt more than 3.5cm dilated he will send me over.  With DS1 I had contrax and didn't really know it so I made it to 4.5cm at 38.5 weeks.
