Bloody mucus after cervical check?

I was checked at my 36 week appt and waited till my 39 week appt (which was monday) to be checked again.  I was 2cm and 50% effaced.  I know spotting is normal after being checked, but all I had was a tiny bit of blood streaked mucus that night.  I probably wouldn't have even noticed if I wasn't looking for it.  But it has continued to increase.  This is my longest pregnancy to date (my first was 5 weeks early and my second was 39 weeks exactly), so I'm trying to be patient.  But I'm wondering how long it could be spotting from the check or if this is finally going somewhere.  With my second, this was kind of how it started (maybe more blood, can't remember anymore), but active labor started within 12 hours of the bloody show and I'm not having any consistent contractions yet.

    Blood tinged mucus is also technically "spotting" so it could just be from the check, though I'd think you'd see brown blood in that case since it's from Monday. If it's continuing, then keep an eye on it and watch for any other signs of labour. Until something else starts happening, I wouldn't worry much about it just yet.

    Spotting and being super super crampy after being checked is totally normally and somewhat expected.  Has happened at the end with all my babies...was checked yesterday for shits and giggles and cramped badly all night...no spotting but Im not even 36 so things aren't quite moving along.  I have learned to not get excited over that!

    I've still got red/pink tinged mucus - this is nuts!  Off and on contractions but far from anything timeable.  Guess he'll come one of these days.   :-/

    It could be the start of passing your mucus plug... Although that doesn't really mean labor is on its way any time soon.

    Made it to another appt, had membranes stripped today.  That sucked!  They recommend inducing at 41 weeks but hopefully that will be a non-issue, because I'd really hate to have pitocin again.  But they are guessing he is over 8# already and my last one was 8.1 and his shoulders got a little stuck.  Thanks for the info ladies!

    There is hope!  Induced with pitocin with my first two at 41 weeks with one 8 pound 12 ounce and 9 pound 1 ounces...water broke with my 3rd at 41 weeks and she was barely 7.  Good Luck!
