Home-based daycares in or near West Hartford?

I'm a first-time mom, expecting a baby in mid-June. I am looking for home-based daycares in the West Hartford area that come recommended by local moms. Any information anyone has on this is greatly appreciated!

    I am sorry to respond without an answer for you! But I wanted to share that I am in the same position, only in Meriden. My mother is a licensed provider in NY, and she suggested looking online at the childcare council, as it will show in-home providers who have a license. That way, you can rest assured that they are regularly monitored for safety, health code, etc. I have got to start looking for the fall!
    On the other hand, I do have friends (in NY) who are not licensed and are excellent, but they rely heavily on word of mouth for leads. SO it's also okay to trust someone you know through a friend. :) Good luck!
