Pardon my grammar...in true mom fashion I'm typing this one handed, on my phone, while breastfeeding 
We were scheduled for an induction on 4/16/14 at 6:00am (39 weeks). I hadn't had any real contractions for about 2 weeks and was holding steady at 1-2 cm. Well, as we were getting settled into the hospital room and the nurse was asking me questions, my water broke...naturally! This was about 5 minutes before they got my IV in to start the pit and 30 minutes before my doctor was set to arrive to break my water! It was so wonderful to know that we weren't kicking him out too soon with the induction...he was ready!
Doctor came by and suggested we still start pit (very low dose) to keep things moving along. Until about 10:30 I labored naturally. When they checked me and said I was at a 5 and guesstimated many more hours of labor I opted for the epidural. I was hesitant about that decision but was so blessed with a great reaction to the epi and total pain management (it was amazing!). Doctor came by on her lunch break about an hour later and was shocked when she checked me and I was at 9.5cm! We pushed for two hours and our little man was here! Episiotomy and one additional 2nd degree tear.
We made it through our first night at home (he's got his nights and days confused!) and are settling into our new family of 3!
