A lot of us have outside babies at this point, so out of curiosity, has it changed your plans for Easter? Will you bring LO around a lot of people for the holiday?
We usually visit with my family or DH's family. We are staying home this year. I'm just not up for 3 hours in the car each way with a newborn. If we had family that was closer we would probably still go.
Is anyone nervous about exposing baby to too many germs? This is bothering me the most about going to our Easter get together. It's usually 50+ people.

I'm not a germaphobe, but yes. We'll be skipping church for that reason.

We are doing our original plans but just modified. We are going to a church service where we can sit in the back and avoid any large crowds. We are also going to my in laws for a small lunch instead of a large family gathering.
We just came home today so I'm just not going to be up for it. This year my parents and grandma are bringing an Easter dinner to our house that way my other two children get to celebrate and we get a nice dinner.
We usually travel to my hometown for Easter but will be staying in Dallas this year. We will be attempting church (baby will be worn the entire time to avoid germs) and then brunch. We'll do the "Easter bunny" / egg hunt for DD after her nap. My ILs will be joining us.
Same plan - Sunday is church then Easter brunch with everyone (DH`s family included) at my parents` place. Monday is my mom`s bday so we`re going out to dinner with just my side of the family.
Going to my brothers which is an hour away. We're going to his church. I will probably be in the back or even outside the service area with baby. Then I will be going another hour to see my biological father and his family. I'm not too worried about the germs. It's a small church and Carter will probably stay covered in his carseat during service.
We're definitely not going to church, which I'm a bit sad about. I like going to church on Easter but we go to a larger sized church and every member and lots of nonmembers go that day so it gets ridiculously crowded...it makes no sense to bring her out in that crowd ( she's still wearing an apnea/heart monitor at all times) even though dh and ds have matching ties and she has a gorgeous smocked dress she could wear.
We will go to my aunts for lunch so she'll wear her dress there and ds and dh can wear their matching ties to her baptism.
Baby and maniac 14 m/o will stay at home with my mom (a recent Jewish convert), while DH and I take DD to church. DH is worried about her getting sick at a week old. He's a cautious physician.
We don't do the same thing every year, but this year we're staying home. No church (which is difficult for me as a church musician) and my bro and sil are bringing us dinner.

Haven't established a "routine" for Easter yet since moving 2000+ miles from my family (DH's family doesn't celebrate). If I would have had this baby near the EDD I was planning to go to church at least ... At this point I'm hoping to have the baby BY Easter. (7 1/2 hours left to make that happen... Not gonna happen.....) Undecided if I'll go still pregnant or not. I really don't want to hear another round of "oh, you're STILL pregnant?!"

@pineconey with my daughter by the time I was "overdue" I quit going to church. I couldn't handle all the "so is anything . . . . Happening?" And other good hearted inquiries. I wish I had times this one better because if it wasn't Easter I toooootally wouldn't be going tomorrow! I feel your pain! My pastor (who is a woman with two grown up children) texted me to see if i has having any contractions. I know she means well but grrrr.
Mama to a little girl born July 2011 and a little boy born April 2014!
my husband's parents are staying overnight from sunday to monday (nice quick visit... i can handle that!) and we'll bring her to church on sunday, but we've brought her to church every sunday since she's been born so that's no different than normal.
i think i'm being less cautious with her than many other moms with newborns. having a 4 year old who attends school, my attempts at shielding her from germs are sort of irrelevant anyway.
We are at my in-laws right now (6 hour road trip) for Easter. We will take DS to church but he will likely be sleeping in his car seat the whole time. Easter dinner will be with about 30 people. It will be a little crazy but I'm glad we made the trip. My in-laws have a very hard time traveling so we wanted to come to them so they could meet DS.

They do a sunrise service on the beach here. We were planning on going, but I think it is going to be too windy for our week old LO. Guess we will be at home.
@Rrrrrachel@LalaMama81 We haven't been in 2 weeks though we did go to the Good Friday service knowing 1) there would only be a small crowd and 2) we had to leave early to meet my MW. Easter is my favorite holiday, so I really do want to go, but after today I just don't know if I can take it. I need a sign saying "He is risen! But please leave the grumpy pregnant lady alone."

I'm right there with you, i have an 11,9 and 6 year old in school, so while i'm trying, there's only so much i can do about the germs.
We will be leaving the hospital tomorrow. No church for mom, dad and Liam but Henry will go with my dad and his wife. Hoping we get home in time for some good Easter food!

We are not religious and never go to church so that's not a concern. We usually treat Easter like any other day, except that my chocolate comes in bunny form and not bar form. But this year we are having brunch with his parents. They just HAVE to see Adalyn on Easter. Hey it's free lunch, I'll take it
