I have used this app in the past to successfully lose and maintain weight and would like to use it again. If you use the app:
1. How many weeks post partum were you when you started MFP?
2. How many calories do you eat a day?
3. Did it effect your supply?
4. Any tips?

I am a pretty regular exerciser and exercised through both my pregnancies, even swimming 50 laps two days before my 1st son was born, BUT once I gave birth, BAM-- three week hiatus. No exercise. I didn't even do stuff like laundry.
Like the PPs said, this is the time to focus on bonding with baby, take it easy, rest, etc.
My body does respond well to breastfeeding and with both children, I ended up going 9 pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight. Exercise was pretty moderate and sporadic until about the 6 month mark. Before the 6 month mark, I did a lot of walks/hikes with the MobyWrap with occasional (maybe once every week or two) trips to the gym. At six months, my sons could start riding in the jogging stroller during runs and that opened up a lot of doors. I didn't do any calorie counting or what not, but I want to emphasize it took time. My first son, it was right around the 8 month mark where I saw the weight loss accelerate. My second son, the pounds started really coming off earlier-- around the 4 month mark. My advice would be patience.
...And creativity. Sometimes you have to get real creative to work in exercise with the little ones. I've found babies to be great weights for lunges, squats, "baby biceps", "high-chest kisses", shoulder presses. And their giggles help you keep motivated for the reps. : ) My older, heavier son is a big fan of "Baby Power Presses" (a shoulder press with your legs involved) and enthusiastically counts to three at the top of each press. Walking lunges are great when you are walking with a slower paced toddler. And when a toddler stops to explore a rock or a flower, if you don't care about onlookers, that's a great time to plank or do push ups.
With supply and strenuous workouts, one thing I found was if I drained the breasts and immediately did a strenuous workout, my supply would drop a bit. BUT, if I drained the breasts, waited an hour, and then did the strenuous exercise, I saw no difference. Stay hydrated.
I hope this helps. Again, I would like to stress, everything takes time. Don't fret now, listen to your body and enjoy that baby! : )
