Old Navy Fail

Everyone I know raves about Old Navy maternity clothes. None of mine from my pregnancy with DS really work...they're all stretched out and worn looking...so I needed some new stuff.

Went to Old Navy and holy hell!!! This is what the maternity section at our Old Navy looked like:

And we got there at 10:05am...they had opened just 5 minutes before, so this could not have been done by customers TODAY. The store was also very nearly empty.

I prefer to try at least a few things on in a store before buying online so that I know what sizes and styles will fit me and look right, but this made me lose my mind. I DID get 2 maternity shirts, but I feel like I missed out on a lot of cute stuff because I couldn't find anything and don't have the patience to sift through clothes like that.

Is this really what. Old Navy is like? It was just so shocking...I'm seriously tempted to contact the company and be like; "Y'all is despicable." :P

Re: Old Navy Fail

  • That's definitely not what my store looked like! It looks like the employees were not doing their job and keeping everything nice and neat. I would do the survey (that they tell you to do on the receipt) and complain.

  • Yikes.  I feel like the higher ups would want to know--it's bad for their brand!

This is what I'm thinking. I may write a letter or something and send my photos. I mean, this is really unacceptable!

  • My old navy doesn't have maternity yet :(

  • Wow, the 2 ONs in my area are always really organized and the staff is really helpful. However, mine don't even have maternity sections, so who knows what they would look like if they did. When I shop anywhere, if I unfold a top to check it out I always make an attempt to put it back the way I found it. Shame on all the customers that contributed to the mess and double shame on the employees who didn't give two fucks about how shitty it looks.

  • Mine is messy but not as bad as that!

I find it helpful to look online first and zero in on what I want, and then to look for THAT.

  • That's how the maternity section in PHX looks, too.  I just order online.

  • We have three close by....one in a not so nice area and two at a higher end shopping centers. The ON at the nicer shopping centers are always really organized. The other one, looks like this. I never go to the messy one, but I blame it on the clientele that live closer to that one. And maybe the employees, who prob just give up at some point!

Interestingly enough, I live in a very high COL area. The Old Navy is between Jos.A.Banks and Nordstrom, both of which are very tidy. Lol

  • Wow that's just terrible! I would send them those pictures! I guess I have only really shopped their online sales, so I don't know if my Old Navy looks like that or not.

  • I always think ON is a little messy, That is really bad though! I do think there was an Easter egg hunt at ON today-and if you found the golden bunny you won a gift card. Maybe it was in the maternity section??
  • I always feel like shopping at our old navy is like digging through a garage sale heap. But I love their maternity tanks so I just order it offline.

Yes, what PP said Old Navy had a Easter promotion where if you got there when they opened and found the golden bunny you won a $100 shopping spree. I imagine that contributed to the mess.

ETA - I didn't get there when they opened but I did go later and buy 2 tshirts and a pair of jean shorts. My Old Navy stuff held up, but I didn't have any full panel styles. I prefer gap for work pants.

  • This reminds me I really need to check and see if my Old Navy has a maternity section.  But I certainly hope it looks better than your pictures!

  • My closest ON doesn't even carry maternity, and im not going downtown or driving to the suburbs to check out the in store selection, so i'll just buy online and return in store.

that shelf is a clusterfuck and obviously the staff didn't want to deal with it at closing the night before, or when opening the store.  i'd be writing a brief email.

    sorry you wasted a trip.

Winston is ready to have a little sister!

  • I went last week and it looked similar but definitely not as bad. I still got two t shirts, a tank top and a pair of shorts but found it expensive! I'm happy with what I got though and I think I will get a lot of wear out of it. But still, you need to step it up Old navy!

  • I haven't been in an Old Navy in years, and the post-riot condition of their stores is big reason why I got turned off by them.

  • That's bad...really bad. However, I would be happy to atleast have that. My old navy doesn't have a maternity section.

  • Ours is typically a hot mess. Our maternity section is teeny, and I almost never find anything appealing and in my size. Makes me sad.. but at least we can order online.

  • Omg! That is really funny. I haven't checked any maternity stores out yet. There is a second hand maternity and baby store down the street from me. My BF's sister just gave me a giant box of her old maternity clothing and everything is really nice! I don't think I'll buy anything except for what my mom buys me. Summer will make this easier too. She also gave me a crap load of baby stuff! The baby tub, bottle holders, a co- sleeper bed. I brought my sister in law with me and asked her if she has used any of this stuff within the last 8 months since she just had a baby.
