Stay at Home Moms

2 week notice

Hey ladies I posted a some time back about becoming a stay at home mom. I went back to work about a month ago and I can't deal with it. I've worked for the company for almost 10 years, my question is...should I give them a basic two week notice? Or should I give them more time? All I want is to be home with my LO. She flipped the first time when I was at work. She started to hold her bottle for the first while is was at work. It's time for this mama to stay home.

I'd do whatever necessary to not burn bridges in case you want to go back to work one day and need them as a reference.

Is there someone that knows how to do your job or will you be leaving them in a predicament.  If there is already someone that knows your position then I would give the standard 2 weeks.  If there is no one to take over then I'd probably give them a month and train a replacement.   You may not want to burn any bridges if you ever want to return to the company even on a part-time basis in the future.

  • I would figure out how much time is asked and do that. My former employer asked for a month and that's what I did. They would have been screwed over had I done less and I didn't want to burn any bridges.
