Real contractions or BH?

Im 37 weeks today, and for the last week or so, my belly gets really tight and then i get a sharp pain down in my pelvic area...usually baby starts moving when this happens....and the pain stops as soon as my belly gets un-tight....ive been having a little discharge, but not alot...HELP!!!

well when it happens i feel just a little pressure on my lower back...but not much...ill try drinking water and see if it helps!! Thanks

I'll keep that in mind!! I guess im just getting too anxious and now im starting to question what's real and what isn't!!

I almost when into preterm labor due to a stomach virus and was having "real" contractions. They hurt and you have to stop and breathe through them versus BH which is just tightening that you can carry on doing whatever you were doing. Good luck! Baby will come when he/she is ready

I know my "real" ones from BH because I have to usually pause what I am doing and do some deep breathing until it passes. They feel like semi bad period cramps at this stage for me as they are just randos and not related to PTL or anything (ie not timetable or consistent in any way) versus BH that don't hurt at all and I don't always notice unless I happen to be paying attention and can feel my belly tightening. BH feels like your entire belly is very taut like you could bounce a quarter off it and shouldn't hurt just feels weird of you are clued into it.

I was having bh contractions for awhile and I was wondering if they were real contractions. Turns out I didn't have any real contractions until I was induced in the hospital and then I was extremely aware of the difference. Like pp said.. When they're real, you do need to stop what you're doing and just breathe until they pass.

with my first I had no idea I was in labor with all the BH I was having all day I just pressed on,,, then I did have to hold my breath even though it didn't hurt like 6 hrs after the cramp free contractions. mine suddenly went from not sure to "go.now" and we raced to the hospital to finally get me settled in a delivery room & I had him within just a couple hours of realizing I WAS in fact, in labor. with my second, I was induced and felt nothing, no back cramps nothing til about 5 hours in, then another quick labor & almost no warning signs that were "for real" ,,, good luck! here's hoping this is your start!!!
